I wonder if it's a complete redesign, or more like a Gen II with some simple upgrades for ease of function. I hope they don't go away from using standard AR barrels in search of a 3 lug lockup, or something. That's a big part of the attraction, being able to use most barrels and handguards on the market. |

They show as OOS, but they've added "bufferless" bolt action models as well. https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/bufferless |

It's a somewhat lazy implementation IMO, sure. But come on, it's BCA...

Ordered the Strike Industries adapter and some decent hack saw blades. Looks like I am finally going to go through with this. If anyone needs a folding hinge and buffer on the cheap, the Atlas Custom works ones are good quality for what they are lmao. Folding hinge is hardened steel. They are fine for 22lr or even 5.56 Going to use a knock off SBA3 that has held up well in the past. I will probably cut a notch in it so it folds flush and locks Into the bolt catch. Im speculating that these hinges/stocks are being resold by Tandemcross. I have a suspicion but can't really prove it. https://tandemkross.com/folding_picatinny_buttstock Technically they are airsoft but the quality of material is insane. Compared a real sig hinge to the knock off,.and I feel like the knock off is machined better. It's a bear creek upper,.so I'm going to keep this a budget build.

Call the tune and let's dance; but beware that the devil is the piper and the tab for that soiree will be hell to pay.

I had to go straight pull for the .458 I couldn't get the BCA to cycle very well with live ammo. I tried different bolts, polishing, etc. I had to run the bolt like it owed me money. My 5.56 BCA is smooth. |

It turned out pretty good. Took 2 saw blades, I ended up doing it by hand. Filed the cuts flush, sanded my way up from 400-1200 grit, and used Brownells oxpho blue. Cosmetically it's hard to tell Bubba even took a hack saw to it. ![]() Will get pics soon |

My BCA bolt action upper arrived yesterday. I haven't had a chance to do more than fiddle with it. Initial impression is that it looks much better than as far as finish quality than I was expecting for $159. The bolt carrier can "over rotate" just enough to make the lugs catch but if you just pop it up, it pulls back with no issues. No pictures yet, I haven't even mounted it on a lower. Hoping to shoot it this weekend and will post some pictures. I was also looking at the solo upper but it was 3x the price. |
I dont think this is a brains type of operation.

I messaged the Preacher about this, but has anyone hacked off the BCA bolt knob and threaded the remaining shank for an aftermarket bolt knob? Looks like aluminum Remington aftermarket knobs are cheap on eBay and mostly aluminum; would probably save a few ounces and function better. The threads are 5/16-24. What is the diameter of the factory bolt knob shank, before it bells out into the knob itself? |

If the part on BCA ever comes back in stock, I will order a couple and give one a try myself. https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/bca-ar-15-ar-10-bas-charging-handle-screw-1.html?qty=1 I won't mess with one unless I have a spare on hand. |

I'm a little late to the party here. I just received a 7.5" BCA bolt action chambered in 300BLK. Initial impressions were that this thing is never going to work well. There is enough slop that the bolt locking lugs don't like to line up correctly to release from the barrel extension. The bolt will either over-rotate just enough to hang up, or it will tip just a little so the lower lugs still hang up. I was thinking about possibly putting a small chamber on the rear corner of the locking lugs, knowing this will decrease the effective lockup area. I rotate the bolt, then wiggle, shake, jiggle, then it will sometimes pop open. While I wasn't expecting a glass-smooth action for $169, it still needs to be functional. But I wanted to go shoot it before doing anything with it. But then I find it seems to unlock reliably when running some dummy rounds through the gun. It seems having a case in the chamber aligns the bolt well enough to cycle without issue. It's only when the gun is empty that it has a problem. I'll play with it some before making any final judgement. Next issue, for those of you changing barrels or handguards, what are you using to hold the upper? It's a milled upper and doesn't have the standard exterior profile, so it won't fit in my vice block. I had another milled upper that I inadvertently squished in the vice several years ago, trying to change the barrel without a good way to support it. I'd like to avoid that if possible. This one has flat parallel sides, which the other one did not. So I may be able to just clamp it in the vice with some softeners. But I wanted to see what everyone else is doing first. |

I use a Geissele Reaction Rod. It supports the locking lugs of the barrel directly. I've also crushed an upper using receiver blocks. I do not use them any more. |

I don't own one of these yet, but I have a 308 version on the way. I can't vouch for its quality yet. At about 40 bucks, it's a lot cheaper than the machined steel Geissele or Midwest Industries rods, both of which I own. https://www.opticsplanet.com/presma-ar-15-223-barrel-vise-block-rod-w-torque-block-for-750-barrels.html |

| Have never ordered from this company before. Been monitoring this thread for awhile. Pretty dam cheap prices. Are there products junk or can it basically work ok? Have a woody for the 338 arc so thought to get an upper to get me in the game. Will just swap lowers from my 300BO’s. Just a little over $200. Worth it? |

They can be finnicky, but I'm entirely happy with my 3 bolt action uppers. |
