| I am looking to stock up on some 20rd mags to use in my retro rifles. Need to get some soon, before the VA ban. I already have USGI 20rd mags, but I am looking for the best current production 20rd mags to add to my stash. I only want to get the best quality mags as I will not be able to replace them. All help appreciated. |

USGI, Colt, Okay, or NHMTG magazines. You already own the best. There have been a number of reasonably priced magazines on the Equipment Exchange very recently. I bought 10 plastic AR magazines from a well known manufacturer. I was not impressed. I gave them all away. |

I take it your looking for retro so that means your looking for gray straight mags? Get the H&R 20 round from PSA when they come back in stock, hopefully for you that would be before July 1st? I have a few of them and they are reliable mags, if You can deal with curved 20's DuraMag makes a gray one. Sorted through a local Store here and i picked out the draker gray (aluminum) ones and they are reliable mags too. |

What are you looking for? Here are some BLEM H&R Retro AR-15 5.56/.223 20 Round Waffle Magazine from PSA for $40 I like Mine - they are very cool and great if you want that 1 or 2 copies to keep with the rifle.  I have some Woodland Camo from PSA as well but I don't think they look that great.  I think I can make better versions myself.  As others have pointed out the H&R Straight Aluminum Grey Magazines are a good version to use. | As mentioned the EE has had some good deals on surplus and used USGI style mags lately. Aside from that I'd have no problem buying D&H or even Brownells house mags. I went on a mag buying spree in the past and feel like I've got enough for my sons lifetime. |

I run 20 round stainless ASC mags in my Mk12 clones. You can handload a bit longer and fit in a little more powder. ASC 20s |

Okay Industries changed its name to AVNA in 2024, stopped making mags, and now manufactures only medical equipment. Made by Okay, NHMTG mags (no idea what that stands for) were discontinued by Okay in favor of the SureFeed brand, which were then discontinued when Okay left the business. So "stocking up" on USGI, Colt, Okay, or NHMTG mags will require a serious investment in time to locate the mags and lots of money to buy them. D&H Tactical is said to have acquired the tooling from LaBelle Industries (another former magazine manufacturer), so D&H might be your best bet for current production aluminum mags. Brownells no longer stocks their version of the early steel waffle mags, and PSA/H&R is currently sold out of their waffle mags. I think Brownells or D&H would be perfectly acceptable. |
| It greatly bothers me that no current magazine manufacturer except Mora Arms uses the original Colt body stamping, so if you want correct and good, you'll have to go with them. Otherwise you'll have to scrounge for surplus/used GI or Okay when you can even find them nowadays. |

I love my Brownells waffle mags... Just need more of them. Anyone selling any, message me please! I also like the look of my Prototype 25 round magazines, but they are terribly unreliable unfortunately, particularly on the first couple and last couple of rounds in the magazine. |
