Howdy, I picked up an EBR-7F Razor 1-6x since I had problems with my issued one and it was actually a seemingly very nice optic. Wanted to see if it was just a one off thing The one I purchased had loose and misaligned rings. Easy fix, torqued them to the listed spec. After shooting I noticed it seemed to have shifted rear on the upper. I was thinking maybe I didn’t push it forward(I did push it forward). Shot again after pushing it forward and torquing to 65in/lbs. It shifted to the rear again…. Turns out the mount is the weak link, not the scope itself. I am debating whether to just over torque the nuts or replace the mount. Thoughts? |

Could be a cheap knockoff. I thought those were 150 $ or so. Probably not the rail on that upper. I’m happy with this Griffin mount. At least since I learned to read my torque driver properly anyway. My tube slipped in the rings cause I was a dummy. Attached File |

I feel a bit silly right now because using a driver(not a torque driver) the nuts tighten a few degrees more… maybe technically over torqued but they are actually fully tight. A lesson on wrench arch vs torque value is maybe being demonstrated here. I’ll have to retighten with 1/6-1/3 past sharp rise in torque and shoot it today. Final Update: this mount does NOT work with my upper lol |
