If it is installed and the bolt catch is installed, it is there.
If it is installed and the bolt catch in not installed you should see it. If you put it somewhere else in the receiver you should look or check there. If you have no clue then no one else will either. |

I'm going to guess the catch wasn't held in place and the pin went in behind the catch. Hard to do, but possible.
