A B5 was recently acquired in trade, so here are some photos of both.  The M&A is marked with blue tape.  It is an older unit with the standard roll pin retention of the plunger.  (I don’t remember if I was the one who boogered it up.)  The checkering is larger on the B5 and the sling loop is smaller with a larger hole.  The butts measure equally 4.26 x 1.75;  the photo makes them look different.  I don’t have a Colt N1 for comparison.

This is a good Idea.  If you don't mind, I can expand upon this (though your pictures are way way better than mine.).

I have an N1, a B5, and both new and old style M&A stocks.

I never realized how much of a pig the new M&A stock was.... its HEAVY....

I think the OLD M&A is closest once you swap the latch.

GREAT photos!  Neither of mine have a textured latch.  Photo added.  Weights are 4.2 for B5 and 4.7 old M&A.
