Just bought a Hybrid 46 for my CMMG 10mm Banshee. Question is about the buffer length and weight. See the 2 factory buffers I got with the weapon are 3.25 inches long. One being a H3 and other a carbine. Didn't have the 8oz or I can't find it. Buffer tube is 7 inch and is bone stock as shipped from CMMG. I do plan on running and reloading heavier bullets and shooting suppressed, 99% of the time. See Kaw Valley has a 10oz buffer for pistols but it's 4.1 inches long. Recommended for 45acp and 10mm. CMMG sells a 8oz as we all know but it's 30 days out. The Kaw Valley is in stock. My question is can I run a 4.1 in buffer in the pistol? Should I stay with a 3.25 buffer like factory? Is 10 oz to much? Stay with 8oz as recommended? Anything else that would work better? What do the experts recommend?? Thanks for the help. |

So here's an update. Ordered the CMMG 8oz buffer 10ca976 from Optics Planet. It was suppose to be shipped in 5-7 days. Well it's been a month and they just keep pushing date out for shipping. It's currently 1-22-26. LOL so much for 5-7 days. Ordered directly from CMMG last week. No idea of time line. Call, nobody will answer. They want you to e-mail. Of course zero response. So I bought the 10mm CMMG with the intent of shooting it suppressed but can't. Or should I say won't cause of the recommended heavier buffer. I can imagine the warranty or complete lack of any if I wreck it with the lite weight buffer. Now what?? Can't believe I'm the only CMMG 10mm owner wanting to shoot it suppressed. Might get dumped at the gun show, what a joke CMMG. |

A have a 10 banshee and it has failed zero times shooting suppressed, stock, no changes to anything…also using the hybrid 46. Added a FRT to it…zero failures shooting suppressed. 10mm at fully enhanced semi auto is…fun. I’m going to try and reload some 220 subsonic to see if it continues to function. |

Finally got out to do some shooting. Range is buried in snow and it's been to cold for me to go out and freeze. H3 buffer works good. Recoil is a little sharper, just a little more then with the 8oz. Weapon runs great no issues or failures of any kind. 8oz is smoother and slightly softer recoil. However I did have a couple of issues. Jam and fail to extract. Did seem to have more case bulging then with the H3. To the point of ruining the brass. This is shooting suppressed only. With a mix of reloads and Sig ammo. Changed the buffer couple times while shooting both. However it was only for 45 rounds using factory Glock mags. More testing is needed when it warms up. Getting a foot or more of snow tonight so it will be awhile. At this point I question whether it's needed. |
