Can I fly with a Surefire M340DFT in my carry on back pack across the US? I have a brand new one waiting for me at home and I plan on bringing it back with me when I return to work. I read some TSA info and it says stuff about "tactical" lights and lights with strike bezels and glass breaking tips.

Just curious if a regular Surefire Scout type light is allowed in carry on. I am not traveling with a checked bag, Just a carry on back pack.

Thanks

Shouldn’t be a problem. If asked, it is a helmet light for work inspections

No problem flying with it.  The only thing TSA cares about are the lights with "strike bezels."  These are the ones with the sharp spikey housings around the light face.  I fly with lights, optics, and lasers in carry-on all the time

Sweet thank you. I read the TSA regs. It sounds like batteries are more of their concern and must be in carry on. So that should all work out just fine
