did Colt offer these in Black back in 96? i dont have it in hand yet so havnt taken it apart , its on the way    |

thats why i want to take it apart when i get it , to see if the OK markings are on the inside of the mag , but the cage code looked good to me so i grabbed it , for $20 why not not sure where the one fella is seeing green , its obviously black , i had only seen the parked ones until this one i know ban era mags they put the restriction text on as a end run around the high capacity restrictions ,so that also fits for a 2-96 mag , i am certain its a legit Colt mag ,just was not certain if it was a bubba paint job of factory finish , the fact someone said they seen the black ones before is a possitive clue thanks for the replies i will take some pics of the innards when i get it in hand |

All OK's I can recall have gold anodine under the main finish. |

| It’s been a while since they were discussed here, but I seem to recall that the gold Okay magazines were characteristic of the pre-ban era (pre-1994), and some point, they transitioned to a more grey aluminum finish under the dry lube coating. It doesn’t align exactly with the 1994 ban, but I think it was more like “all pre-ban Okay and Colt mags have that gold color underneath.” Maybe someone else can clarify that. |
