| After thoroughly debating on a zenith vigil, dot ds, infitac ows 32 and exps 3 I ended up pre ordering a Colt CQS-1. It seems to be based off of the AEMS housing design and im all for it. This is the modern aimpoint t2. |

Colt branded? Who actually makes it? I don’t think Colt has a chip plant in a shed somewhere on property. How about we coin a name for Colt Chinesium stuff. It’s not sh$t, it’s “Chit”. They should work on dehorning their 1000$ pistols before worrying about the optics market. ETA: Google AI says the optic is Designed, engineered, and assembled in Brighton, Michigan, USA. If true, parts probably aren’t made domestically, but at least it’s assembled here. That might provide some quality control and local accessibility for customer service. |

It could be interesting. It looks like a competitor to the Sig 8T, large window but with a common footprint unlike the 8T and without the short battery life of an Eotech. If I didn't own night vision and I wasn't a Colt nerd, I'd just stick with the lighter Sig 4T but I might pick one up to see how it is under NVGs. Depending on your definition, Colt optics are or aren't made in the USA. By the strictest definition, there are exactly zero US-made optics, not even the PA HTX-1. I expect that Colt is taking the same path as Sig: designed and assembled here with globally sourced parts. |
