I was given some stuff and a Colt AR-15 magazine was something I found in the pile.
I thought it was a 20 rounder.
It is really only a 5 rounder.
It does not look like it was ever messed with, when I looked closely somebody had etched "5" into the front of it.
Does anybody think there would be collector value in it?
For me, this mag will be OK for doing groups, where I might only want to shoot 3 or 5 of some recipe off bags, where a 30 rounder would drag on the table.
I have never seen this before, although I do remember Colt ARs being shipped with 5 round mags in the late 70s.
Would this be one of those?
Thanks

The early SP1 mags where 20 rounders with a metal piece in them to hold 5 rounds.
If you take the base plate off you will see the metal thing that lets it hold only 5 rounds. pull that out and reassemble.

Good for communistic states, hunting in areas with restrictions and bench shooting.

I'd be interested if you're thinking about selling, they're nice to have in CA.

This is the limiter that was in some of the old 20 round mags.
