Which is better for a mostly suppressed host or are they close enough that it would be a wash? I've had really good luck with the three DD barrels I already have(only one is suppressed) and have another barrel waiting to be assembled on an upper but not I'm thinking I should get a Centurion CHF to try instead. Was also thinking that if I went the Centurion route I'd pair it with their fancy Bcg with the E4 bolt. |

I have rifles with both and have found it to be a wash. No measurable difference in accuracy, velocity, or durability. Caveat that I don’t have enough rounds on the centurion to know how long it’ll last, whereas I’ve shot out two DD barrels over the years (one of which DD replaced for free without me even asking, it was really impressive). The DD’s may be gassed a bit more aggressively but I never mic’d them since I use BRT gas tubes on everything. So I’d say flip a coin or go with whatever you want. Also, you can buy one of Cenutrion’s enhanced bolts for mil spec barrel extensions, which keeps your options open on the barrel. At the risk of over complicating, take a look at the Geissele barrels. I bought a 12.5 on sale and have been seriously impressed. |

I know the DD barrels are slightly over gassed but with the Hux can it's still not that bad even with only an H buffer. On this next rifle I'm going to try a BCM A5 set-up with the T2 buffer. |

I would call or email both companies and ask what the gas port diameters are for each barrel type you are looking at. I honestly think both barrels are equivalent in terms of accuracy, but I have seen “tests” go either way. When I bought my DDM4 V7 back in 2018, Daniel Defense’s 16” mid-length gas port diameter was slightly smaller than what Centurion Arms was using. That made me buy the DD, since I was planning on running it suppressed with a Surefire 5.56 RC2. Flash forward to today, these new low back pressure cans, especially HUXWRX, negates the need to worry about small gas port sizes for running suppressed. That assumes of course you know how to set up your buffer and spring appropriately. |

I have purchased a couple of Centurion barrels in the last two years. A 14.5" Mid-length Enhanced Socom barrel and a 16" Mid-length Mid-weight barrel. Both came with 0.076" gas ports (verified with pin gauges). The DD 14.5" Mid-length Govt profile barrel I purchased about 3-4 years ago, came with a 0.075" gas port (verified with pin gauges). |
