Dad passed recently that's another post though. I gave him this surefire 6p led years ago. I got it back and wondered is malkoff still the best replacement head as far as brightness/ quality?

Lumens Factory is pretty good. I have several of their products.

Heck, I even picked up a lamp module off Amazon for $10 that has been pretty good so far. There are still a lot of options available for P60 drop ins.

Malkoff is still good quality. But they aren’t nearly as bright as their competitors.

I know malkoff is quality. But something brighter would be nice as long as it wasn't total flea market crap.

This. Gene is still state of the art…for 2010. I wish he’d join us here in 2024.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.  Yes.  Malkoff M61 of whatever output level/temp you want will probably outlive your kids, and their kids.

I use something similar in my old 6P. Works great on a rifle with the shock isolated bezel and as a handheld light. I also have a IR version that works pretty good, too.

Good options if price is a concern.

Price is not a big deal. I was thinking similar to malkoff quality but a little brighter. Thank everyone.won't be on a weapon ar see any real rugged use.
