Time for an SBR... Want to do all custom engravings. Looking for something where the manufacturer engravings are less conspicuous and somewhere other than the magwell. Is there an Aero Precision-tier lower manufacturer selling such a thing for a reasonable price?

Edited to specify that I really just don't want markings on the magwell.

I can't manage an 80% lower right now, it's the "most desirable" option but... too much to deal with right now. Project overload.

PSA Stealth looks like best option so far, but they still stamp crap on the magwell. It's less of a billboard, for sure, but I wanted clear magwells for my own engravings.

Wasn't able to find a store or product list for Range Tool...

Thanks for the input, fellas!

Yep, came to recommend a psa stealth. Just used one on my most recent build. They go on sale frequently.

They still have markings on the magwell.

I'm not TOO averse to spending more money on the lower since this will have a $200 tax stamp associated with it, but since I can't actually find prices for a LB stripped lower, I'm assuming it's way outside my price range!

The matched pair is $380, I believe.  Their website is retarded, the price sheet is separate from the order form, so you have to find the item you want on the price sheet and fill in the blanks on the order form.  It's easier to just call them.

LOL, I thought the same thing when I bought my first Range Tool lower a few years ago.  They had two versions... 1 with the full name as shown, and 1 with just "Range Tool" on the side.  I wanted minimal text/markings so I emailed them (as their website was showing the longer name) and asked what was up.  Basically when they first started making lowers they were doing the long name until they had a dba "Range Tool" set up. I specifically asked for one with a shorter name, but still received one with the long-ass version.  Great lower but they don't like answering emails for orders.  Guess they have their hands full with other contracts right now.

Cross Machine and Tool. It's a billet lower, about $170. CMT makes great stuff, built one of their ambi lowers into a pistol that I later traded off for an AR10.

Yeah the no-logo ones don’t look like that anymore. I’d bought 2 just before SHOT from them and when they came was disappointed that the model number, serial and that stupid “multi” bullshit was now on the right side of the lower. While the mag well surfaces are still blank that writing on the right side looks horrendous.

I ended up getting more PSA Stealth lowers but obviously those have some markings on the mag well.

Their “store” has been offline since after SHOT and they didn’t answer my emails re: their ‘custom engraved’ option they used to offer.

Quoted:

" Contact us to see how we can assist you." All the site says???
They didn’t reply to my e-mails.

A couple years ago just after Sandy Hook IIRC they stopped direct sales. Then they resumed again so I suppose it’s possible that’ll change.

Shame ‘cause they made a good product.

I guess I should have checked before I said something. It seems they no longer offer them on their site. I did find one to prove that I had seen them before.

I can't seem to get a response from CMT regarding their engraving options on this lower. Hope this isn't indicative of how they stand behind their products.

I started a similar thread back in March and in the end I ended up grabbing a couple of the PSA "Stealth" lowers and one Anderson "Ghost" lower. Both are very nice and I'd recommend either (or both).

The PSA and Anderson lowers still have the caliber and serial number stamped on the mag well, valuable real estate! Certainly a decent option though.

Would like to find another.

If it is for an SBR that you will engrave it means you will likely keep it.  Buying the cheapest one out doesn't seem like the best strategy.  I personally really like the ADM lowers as the ambi controls are really nice.  They came out with a 'slick side' version and thats what I used for my SBR.  The kac brace is just on it waiting for form 1 to return.

What I don't like about it is my BCM grip doesn't fit right with the nub thingy. The same grip fits on my mega lower perfectly.
