Going to be building a 16" DMR kinda rifle.  I need a fixed rifle stock, and these are my choices.  I never cared for the A2 stock

PRS Lite.

There’s also the Magpul rifle stock. Kind of Starship Troopers looking but works well.

If you are going cumbersome with the stock, might as well get a 20” barrel too.

The PRS Lite uses a carbine or A5 extension, not rifle. I wasn't sure if that was a requirement.

I would say A1 or MOE rifle stock.

The EFX-A1 stock is my favorite for SPR fixed stock vibes

Budget Precision Stock? Magpul PRS Lite Review

For a Precision gun the PRS lite is pretty nice. The bag ride-ability is a big factor.

I put one on my RPR and love it.

Colt CS Stock or whoever is making the clone of it now and call it a day.

I have read that these stocks won't fit all carbine buffer tubes?  Which ones do they fit?

This ^^
Get the thicker butt pad.  It adds a bit more than 1/2" to the length of the stock.  I like mine much better since I have installed that butt pad.

I believe they have to have the flat rear (vs angled). I have mine on a generic one.

Bear in mind.. the A1 stock's length of pull is 10.25"

The PRS Lite is minimum 13.85"

The length of an A1 stock is 10.25", but LOP is closer to 12-7/8"

100% correct, the magpul is definitely closer to A2 than A1 length

I’m a fan of the Magpul fixed carbine stock.

I have a 24” 5.56 and it had my favorite fixed stock, the Magpul MOE.  But…with my scope setup, I could not get the cheek weld I wanted.  But I really did not want the extra weight of my PRS Magpul stocks that I have on other rifles.
What to, what to do, what to do?
So I put on a VLTOR Anvil CAR receiver extension and tried the PRS Light stock using a flat wire buffer spring and standard buffer.  Marriage made in heaven.  Now I have the cheek weld I want without the added weight of the PRS.
