I was trying to push the pin back in and it just opened right up on me I'm looking for a source of decent pins good pins without breaking the bank; manganese phosphate strongly preferred unless someone has objections. It's usually not super obvious but they are less shiny than the oxide ones. I know in the case of the trigger guard roll Pins I got ones from aero and they are 1 million times better than the ones that come with Magpul tg. I was looking at the ones on unbranded AR website |

In Armorer courses we teach to first make sure things are properly aligned (slave pinning), this can be accomplished by putting a 1/16" punch through the ejector hole/assembly, and leave it there while you install the roll pin to keep everything properly aligned, installing the roll pin from the slaving punch tip side which when you tap the roll pin in will force the slaving punch out. Lubricate the pin hole as well with drop of gun lube. Using a roll pin holder will also help support pin during installation, tap on the roll pin holder until it bottoms out, which with most roll pin holders will allow you to get the roll pin installed about half way or more. Then finish with a roll pin punch until the roll pin goes flush. Then if you wish to countersink the roll pin, go back to a 1/16 drive pin punch (flat tip). I dont think i want to buy pins on mcmaster. This is all different grades and all kinds of things involved I'd rather have a quality established Gun part even if at the end of the day it's the same thing. I'm sure I can cancel it if you can get me the link to the correct part I'll just order it for work lol I searched the designation you just mentioned and I got nothing that small I searched by size, of 7 only 2 were t stainless, neither specifies finish, and one isnt us made. |

When you install the ejector in a bolt....make sure the split in the pin faces away from the ejector itself.....Can't tell you how many I fucked up before I figured out that little tidbit.....Send me SASE and I'll send you a couple....Address is on the Macon Armory website. Rudy |
