I think 4-12 is a miss for this type of thing. A lot of clip ons start getting pushed at 4x and tap out at 6x. The super short body is nice for low rail space but that's not an issue on longer barreled gats usually I'd like to see a 3-9 or 2-8 in ffp with better IQ and a mounting platform for piggyback dots |

If they’re sticking to 3x erectors for space you’d think a 2-6 would be more useful for that, but obviously that detracts from their bigger market space that wants a higher SPRish magnification range. |
| I don’t think I have much use for it, but it looks like a nifty optic. 3-9 I could go SFP or FFP, it’s kinda on the dividing line. But a 4-12 I’d lean FFP and the reticle looks vastly improved for it too. I think this is a much more philosophically cohesive optic than the 3-9. |

The thing is though, traditional options exist and do it better than this for those spr's. |

This saves a few inches which is nice, but there are options that are still small and offer a lot more in most every other way. |

Some of the reviews I have seen are not very promising as far as IQ goes with the 3-9 as it is, so how is this one going to be any better when they are squeezing more magnification into this one, and making it a FFP? |
Liberal men are pissing their panties like little girls over guns all the time, like wusses, it's really pathetic that grown men can't act like....well, men.

I hate scope mounts and heavy optics that f up an otherwise handy carbine. This solves those two issues. If you value lower weight vs bird watching glass clarity then this will be an awesome little scope. I have the 3-9 shorty and the glass is fine, it’s plenty good enough for its intended use. For me the size and weight was worth the “not Kahles” glass quality. A 4-12 with a piggy back RDS, caps and mount will be 22 oz all in. That’s at least 8-10 oz lighter than what you could match capability wise before this, that’s a pretty big deal IMO. |

That’s at least 8-10 oz lighter than what you could match capability wise before this, that’s a pretty big deal IMO. It has benefits but a lot of drawbacks. Which is more important is subjective of course. The Steiner 2-12 and Credo 2-10 both offer a lot over this save for the length and 5oz (assuming a Reptilia or NF Ultramount or the like). It’s nifty but I don’t see the appeal unless one is chasing size over performance. But I mean, to each their own. I do hope it’s a quality optic for whatever that’s worth, and I’m sure it’s nice with the caveats of being nice *for the size* Edit, I was actually considering the 3-9 for awhile, and this certainly seems like an all around improved version of the concept. I like 6arc because of the range I can get for its size. This thing on like a 12.5 6arc would be sweet. I’ll stick to my 2.5-20 NX8, but still. |
| For me this really seems like it would be a good fit for a 12.5 " barrel and under setup that one wants accuracy 350 yards and out. I have a 11.5 556 with a 1-8 lpvo and a 12.5 6.5 grendel with a leupold mk4hd 2.5-10 that the vudu 4-12 would make a lot of sense on. The leupold mk4hd 2.5-10 on my 12.5 6.5 grendel is a good set up and even though the mk4hd 2.5-10 doesnt have parallax adj, I dont need it on that scope. The only things that would improve the mk4hd 2.5 -10 to me would be if it was shorter, lighter and had a Christmas tree style reticle, the vudu checks all of those boxes . I still think a lpvo with a 1x reigns supreme for thermal use . This vudu would not be for thermal use ,or clip on use but for most other use case scenarios and how most people use scopes I think it is an awesome addition to the mpvo options available. |

The 2.5-10 Leupold is such a splendid optic. I have mine (FFP illum TMR) on a 12.5 Grendel too, a Proof carbon fiber with a CAT ODB ti. It’s about the perfect setup for whitetail. I wish they had more reticles though. It’s capable of so much more if they’d give it a modern Christmas tree style reticle or their CMR etc. But it’s Leupold. I’m positive they will not do that any time soon, if ever, because it’ll cut into their Mk5 sales. |

I can see it with the tree reticle. I’d still rather locking vs capped, but I guess if the angle is simple, streamlined, and rugged. Like one of my NX8s has a Tremor reticle but the turret is exposed and doesn’t lock, and given how the reticle is designed I wish the turret just locked in place. |

Has anybody gotten some time behind one of these? Was quite curious about the 3-9x at first, and then I was rather let down by the reticle and SFP and the overall reports. The few reports I've seen of the 4-12x seem favorable, and it would make an interesting alternative to my current 5x prism scope. |
Also interested in this. Could see it being a nice optic for a 16"556 SPRish kinda build, as my 16" is losing its optic due to optic roulette . Ive played with one inside and outside a LGS and seems pretty sweet. But would also like some real world experience with it

Yeah I'm also interested in something like this. It's interesting that the things you guys don't like about it are exactly what makes it attractive to me lol. I think this is probably a great choice for run and guns where some extra magnification in a very small and light package is worth less glass clarity. Small capped turrets are also good for this use case as most guys use holdovers instead.
I currently have a somewhat heavy 1-6 and I never use the 1, and find it bulky. |

Problem with selling a 2-6x is there’s a LOT of great 1-6X you’re now directly competing against… and in the $900-1500 range too. |

Reticles, mag ranges, turrets, etc. akin to getting dressed in the dark. Occasionally they accidentally design a coherent product. They rectify this this by quickly discontinuing it. |
Brass Facts likes the 4-12x, which is good to see after how the 3-9x review did.![]() Finally an interesting optic | Vudu 4-12x FFP |

I have a PA Slx 5x mini prisim on a light weight 14.5" field rifle this is could replace. But I feel it's still probably too heavy for that (8oz vs 16oz). Everything else looks like a win. |

Haven't used it in anger just yet so I'm reserving judgement on the no parallax. It'd be great to use the 4-12 with my thermal clip on but the 4X is too much to see the entire screen and it might make viewing the menu and al the options difficult. https://i.postimg.cc/rpTMVJyD/IMG-0046.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/9f2CmpXR/IMG-0060.jpg Nice comparison, love the form factor. |

The suggestion is to reduce magnification to resolve this. |
