so basically what I'm trying to get out of this is information on
what years the first gen barrels were produced ? what years the second gen barrels were produced ? and what years the 3rd gen barrels were produced in.? if anybody has a FN A2 or A4 barrel and could provide barrel dates I would appreciate it that way I can catalog it all and have some sort of Log on here. the ones that seem to be more rare or harder to track down information are the 1st gen barrels since they are from the 80's ive seen several online that pop up here and there NIB and all seem to be marked 89 I also have been trying to put together a similar thing with FN A2 upper recievers how they are marked, anodizing color variations and what dates they were from and what barrels would go with each one a lot of these older threads seem to be outdated and photos have broken links due to being from photo bucket or other image servers that are no longer supported. seems to me these types of threads as repetitive and annoying it must be for some people are necessary to be updated and refreshed every couple of years as not everyone knows all of this information and kind of sucks that a lot of the information gets wiped out due to closed threads or broken links. if people are interested in this topic and think its good for the community as a whole im willing to make some sort of MASTER FN M16A2 M16A4 thread with every variation of uppers, and barrels along with pictures and dates of course with everyone else knowledge though and input since I am not a expert in these just someone who likes to gather information and share it so people can know what's what and how they should look or can look like. |

those raised F marked uppers are very interesting, haven't see that type.
Ive usually only seen stamped F keyhole and F square forged ones. as far as F mark goes. cage coded ive seen different variations also |
