Not sure where to post this, and this is not specific to any manufacturer. What is your experience with durability of folding braces for use on roller delayed/delayed blowback pistols? This includes the hinge itself, the attachment to the firearm, and the actual brace. How about if dropped, yes, I know, depends on height, angle of drop, weight of the firearm, what it is dropped on, ... etc? Note, I have never owned or shot one. |

Pretty open ended question... Most folding braces use the same or similar folding mechanism as a folding stock would, so if your question is about the hinge part, pretty much all of those are fine. As for the braces themselves, I wouldn't think there's any durability concerns for popular commercial models, but some of them are softer/floppier than others, made from rubber type material, and can shift or bend/compress a bit when "used". |

I believe if you are using any captured spring system with central rod, whether RDB or not (Maxim RDB, JP SCS, Armaspec SRS, etc.) you cannot run with the standard spacer that goes in the folding mechanisms. I don't use a folder or such a style, but I think I've seen alternative spacers mentioned which do work with these systems.... not sure. For example, Brownells sells a version of the SCS specifically for the folder.
