Is there a longer front pivot pin that I can use. I got a lower that we had made from a deployment (it’s and I was installing it and at first I did not think much because the rear would or should not go all the way through. I wonder if the front pivot pin is in spec or if the lower that was made might be out of spec at the front pivot pin. The front pivot pin in it now is flush not pushed through a little bit like on all my other lowers. Any ideas? |

Photo would help, but does detent lock into place with pin pushed all the way in? If not, and its the side ear tab of the lower receiver that is a little wide, then easy to put pin in lathe to face the inside of the head down, to allow the front take down pin to be pushed in a little deeper, so detent can lock it up in the closed postion correctly. Also, check with another take down pin, since one is play may be out of the spec, and easier to just replace it with one in spec, then to have to screw around with a few dollar part to correct it instead. As for receiver, did this start out as a 100% receiver, or 80& or less, and you failed to check all the dimensions from the start. Hence problem with some 80%, some not to spec on that was milled, and better to just start with a forged blank, that you can mill it to spec from the start instead. I bring this up, since if you don't check the 80 before you start milling, so you can sent is back for replacement, then pretty much screwed one you take the first cut and can not longer be able to have it swapped out with something that is in spec. |
