I'm looking for a do-all 11.5"-12.5" 5.56 carbine bbl, CL but not necessarily CHF. It will be used both suppressed and unsuppressed and I don't want to use an adjustable gas block. Dependability is Job One and is more important than sub-MOA. No "fussy" barrels!  I want it to run on any ammo that I end up with.Plan to use an RDS or a LPVO and I can't imagine using it beyond 300 yards. PA has this one on sale. Honestly, considering the purpose I'm not sure the lack of CL justifies the purchase of the "G" bbl. I'm on a budget, but in this case the "G" bbl would be affordable. Your thoughts? |

I've got one and it is a fantastic barrel. The standalone barrels are gassed to run anything with a .070 gas port. I think mine was closer to .068, but I choked it way down for 100% suppressed use anyway. It shot a little better than a Criterion Core I had when Geissele launched them. I've been very happy with it. That's a pretty decent deal at PA. Geissele currently has them in stock and there are a ton of Shot Show 35% off coupons floating around out there right now. Would make the barrel $237 plus shipping. |

Literally did the exact same thing around christmas for the same reason when they were on sale for $249 (made a thread for the sale as well https://www.ar15.com/forums/AR-15/-Deal-Alert-Geissele-12-5-chf-cl-carbine-length-and-other-249-99-PA/118-792417/) to replace a 12.3" ba hanson. I have only put it together though, been skiing, but now that all the snow's gone, i'll be taking it out soon.

| Mine runs great and shoots smooth ( got a blem for 179 a couple years back ) however it is not the most accurate barrel ever. I’ve tried 55,62,64,68,75, and 77g varieties of ammo and can’t really get it group better than 2”. I know it’s not me because I can shoot sub minute groups on other platforms |
