| I was going through some spare parts and came across a buffer spring (seems to be heavy duty) but it is 9 1/4" inch long and only has 25 coils. Of course it was in an open plastic sleeve with no writing on it so I have no idea where this came from. Any help would be super appreciated. |

Is it braided wire? Some of those gouged the shit out of my buffer tube and I sent them back. I think it was a local AZ manufacturer. I have recently seen a major manufacturer making them, but I still wouldn't trust them. The local guys sent them in a square expansion tube. No label. The replacements look like normal, but stainless steel wire. Same guys. |

Sounds like it might be a LuthAR AR10 carbine buffer spring. I have two of them that match the coil count and close to the length you posted that I got from Brownell's. I know the picture on Brownell's web site and Luth's website shown a longer spring with more coils but if you read the description on Luth's website mentions the 25 coils and a length of 9.75". The ones I bought are 9.5 inches long. The wire is about .007" thicker in diameter than a normal AR spring. I have another brand of AR10 carbine buffer spring and it has a different coil count and length, so all brands do not appear to be the same on that spring. |
