Does anybody know what these are?  Are they fake?  Came with a trade and I thought it was odd having steel 30rd Colt marked AR15 Magazines.

Op, once you get some answers, do you mind if I post some of mine? I got a whole bunch of 5, 10 and 20 rounders for too good a deal a while back and I totally forgot about them until I saw this post.

Is it marked Colt anywhere except the floor plate? I’ve never seen steel Colt mags, only aluminum.

There are 40rnd steel fakes that were being passed-off as "pre-ban" for a number of years.

Baseplates look similar

The mag catch holes look pretty crude.  Kinda makes me think of the mysterious gunshow-special mags that you’d find during the AWB era with Colt base plates.  Do they work?  I’d almost guarantee those were created in someone’s basement.

The feed lips look funky.

I do not know what they are- but I do know they are not Colt.

They are fakes. There are several magazine dealiers I’ve seen selling them at shows and another vendor selling them on Gunbroker.

I think someone just swapped floorplates.

Whether intentional or not, can't say.

I figured they were fakes.  The construction is very bad but I have never seen fakes like this before.  Thanks for the help.  If anyone has any other questionable mags they wanna post.  Feel free.

Just the floor plate was marked Colt and I’m not sure if they work because I never tried them since they were questionable.  I thought it was weird they also had anti tilt followers.

As others have said, it is 100% certain that these are not Colt mags.

Going with this. Someone looking to fleece the uninformed.  "Rare Colt steel mags. $100 each"

Just a look at what the pony is standing on in the floorplate logo is telling enough.

The base plate is the only Colt part on those mags and I'm even a little suspect of that.

I have the same mag from the AWB era. Fake as a $3 bill.
