I have been working on this load for quite a while and finally got it sorted out. The 130 grain Speer Varmint. I tried several powders and finally settled on Lil Gun with them seated at 2.05" Initially I could not get 100% feeding reliability. The last round would jam hard into the feedramp. I toyed with this for a while and finally tried a metal duramag...poof..the problem vanished. I ran about 75rds without a single feeding issue, tried a pmag and the problem returned so these are metal mag only but really accurate and should be excellent as an SD load. Careful with Lilgun... I used to load 158gr over Lilgun in .357 mag for use in carbines. Excellent speeds ..but watch barrel heating.. it's incredibly hot burning. A few rounds of these lilgun loads would leave my barrel insanely hot, given the few rounds fired. Id be VERY concerned about barrel life if you rip a couple mags off quickly. Not kidding. Freedom Arms used to make very high end revolvers. They specifically cautioned against use of lilgun because of excessive forcing cone and throat erosion. No flames intended. Just helping |

Just helping I have been using Lil Gun for nearly 20 years with thousands of rounds of 357, 45 colt +p, 44 mag and a lot of others. Its never been an issue. |
