I am working on a IDF type rifle, from what I gather an a1 flash hider should be correct on a pencil barrel. What would have been correct for behind it? Lock washer, peel washer or crush washer?

For a second there, I said, "Whoa, an A2 carbine in the IDF! Unpossible!" Then I looked closer. Looks like an A1 receiver with an A2 sight grafted on. Interesting. But damn it, I wanted to Izzy-fy my A2 carbine. |

Could it be a re-purposed receiver from an A2 rifle mated to an M4 barrel? I'm fairly sure they did obtain A2 rifles, and the Israelis are as prolific as the USAF when it comes to mixmaster M-16s. . |

I have read enough that I believe that really was the case - although some will argue that it wasn't an 'M4' but a model 727. Regardless, A2 uppers with M4 barrels are a real thing -whether it was put together by Colt or assembled by the Israelis hardly matters IMO. No reason you can't build an Izzy 727 - they certainly saw (and are probably still seeing) use. |

Good work sir. FWIW I also like the top rifle. It is still simple and effective so I'll allow it (not that I have any authority in that matter whatsoever). |
