I purchased a psa freedom upper for my son and swapped the handguard on it with a magpul one. I tried to install the psa one onto my upper but it will not fit. The little tab on it will not let the top half go on at all.. Do I grind it off? The bottom section fits but the tab is on the outside of the cap. Daniel Defense mid length barrel

If you are fitting them into a rifle with a triangular cap, I drew a crude diagram that's attached to this post to help you. If you're using the round handguard cap, it's pretty obvious how it fits together. If you are having issues getting the top one to fit, sometimes they are finnicky with the gas block. Take it out and reseat it. That little triangle at the top should be making contact with the top of the triangle handguard. if it is not, then it isn't seated correctly. If it fits in there but it is NOT seating, try tapping the bottom of the handguard from the underside of the barrel. Good luck regardless. Attached File |
