Hi Guys I just got an Aero precision M5 Complete lower.I read that the AR10 has an issue with gassing? I am looking at the Rock River Arms LR .308 A4 Upper Is this a good choice? Is there anything I need to know to help me? Should I build an upper? I would rather keep it easier for now, witch is unusual for me as I love to tinker and build but, Right now I got my First AR15 Witch is an Aero M4E 1 lower with an Atlas R-one upper 16” total including muzzle I was thinking of a universal build with the AR10, so that it can be a nimble fighter and long range piece Maby 16” barrel like that Rock River Upper has |

I probally would ..at this point I was looking around, but if I remember correct one guy said that he did a full Aero build and the brass was just falling out and I read that the AR10 needs to be tuned ? However that link you guys sent me with that 16” Aero upper , is pretty sweet,..it has an adjustable gas block as well? Is this a factory build or this gun shop assembled it? The Aero 16” M5 upper at another shop is around $700 and does not look to have that |

Im going to go with this Aero M5 16” upper ,..CB69 thank you for sending me that deal..That was something that had to be found because when I went on the same website and searched AR10 upper receivers, out of the 2-3 pages of uppers ..That 16” Aero precision with the Adjustable gas block did not show up. The Aero precision 16” upper that showed up was around $700 and had the Atlas R-One handguard just like my Aero Precision M4E1 has, witch is awsome I love it, however I also wanted This style as well..and the adjustable block is something I want to put on my AR15 M4E1 as well.I Like the look of this Gen2 upper? I think it says … That’s great that the 16” barrel is long enough because that’s what I wanted to do..I have a new Monstrum Archangel 6X ..heavy as hell but it’s made really well And I think with this upper it will be a light enough , Nimble enough rifle to be a good everything rifle…. .308 |

The M5 fits the LR308 spec upper., You should confirm with Rock River Arms though. Pick up an M5 upper from AR15discounts.com or Primaryarms.com |

The Aero complete upper barrels tend to be undergassed due to overly small gas port. You can have it drilled out by someone who knows what they're doing, or you can just live with it. By undergassed, I mean there's a chance it will struggle to push the BCG back far enough to strip the next round when using lower powered ammo like M80 ball without a suppressor providing some extra back pressure. It always pushed hard enough to extract, but just not hard enough to always strip the next round. I had no issues with any 308 ammo unsuppressed. I got a slightly lighter buffer weight, which fixed the issue of cycling unsuppressed M80 ball. I shot about 99% suppressed with my Huxwrx 762 can, and it was an extremely smooth shooting rifle. I want to say it was around 1.5 MOA. I came very close to 1 MOA one time with a five round group, but was never able to duplicate it so I'm not going to claim it's a 1 MOA gun. So nothing near the .5-.7 MOA you can get with a Seekins or Larue, but it's also 1/3 the price. It loves 168g Federal Gold Medal Match SMKs. It also liked 175g SMKs. With M80 ball it was more like a 4-5 MOA gun. Or maybe I just suck. Not bad for spending just under $1,000 for the complete Aero M5 upper and an Aero M5 lower that I built out myself with a Larue MBT-2S in it. |

Yeah my Larue MBT-2A Trigger Hammer just smacked my Aero M4E1 Lower putting a nice Dent on the lower , im pretty pissed about it, I know these things are made to shoot and all that, but being from Massachusetts and what I paid for my complete Aero M4E1 Build $1600 that pissed me off The milspec hammer has a cutout to clear the lower in case an idiot like me accidentally dry fires the lower without an upper installed |

| I have an aero bolt carrier that’s been reliable, but recently I bought a tool craft “high pressure” BCG with dual ejectors. I only have about 100 rounds through the gun with that and a new barrel, so I’m not sure I can recommend it just yet. So far it’s been good though. |

Ok so what is the need for the reduced firing pin Hole in the e Aero bolt? I assume this is going to cause need for proprietary parts as well instead of being able to use a regular set of parts for the AR .308 Bolt? And lastly am I able to use a Non Aero precision bolt for an Aero Barrel? Will that effect headspace? |

Will probably try our an 18 at some point. |

I hear that, so my 16” Aero Precision M5E1 Upper came with an adjustable Gas Block made by Aero Precision, i love how it came out so far, Im going to work on the buffer system now.I was thinking of going with an JP silent spring , the heavy version with a spring kit, I think I’ll be able to make it run smooth “Enough |

I ended up taking the M5 Build to the range for the first time last Sunday, and it ran really smooth I built the Rifle with the Aero 16” Upper with the Aero adjustable gas block, And I installed an VLTOR RE10/A5 buffer tube , with a Tubbs Flatwire Spring and an H3 5.4oz Buffer.. The rifle ran beautifully , fed every round and locked back on an empty mag, and cycled nicely However the adjustment the gas block needed to run was with the gas block open 11 clicks open from closed While the Aero adjustable gas block is supposed to open a maximum of 15 clicks open So i was wondering if this was ok? In that the gas block needs to be almost all the way open Then again though I do have a much heavier buffer installed than what Aero supplies and a spring What do you think |
