Ha, sorry about that. I actually did flip the picture around before posting it, but then I thought it looked too odd with the guns looking to be magically suspended and all.

Anyone get their hands on the new SW MP10 and actually shoot it? Can't find much when searching. Thanks!

You'll have better luck asking in the Variants forum.

Some nice hardware in here!

Here is my AR10 carbine. Had a 20" T but was limited to the bench being so heavy, sold for the carbine.

Heres mine I recently finished. AR10 (A) series.  I bought it all one piece at a time. Took forever.  Most parts came from 762sass (Rhine Group).  20" barrel dimpled and cut to 16" with rifle length gas system, JP adjustable gas block, Magpul FDE Cerakote.  Big thanks to Ghostface for the info and inspiration.  Had to open up the gas port a couple thousandths.  Uses a standard AR10 recoil spring with 2 coils cut off and a standard AR15 buffer cut down to 2.25" running only two weights versus three.  I got it set to almost not lock back on an empty mag.  Shoots like a dream.  The long gas system and light weight buffer make it run really nice.

Nice, real nice rifle! Good to know about the gas port too. My next AR-10 is going to be a 16 inch with rifle length gas system but it's going to be more of a blaster type instead of precision. I just gotta finish this long range bolt gun build first. Who did the barrel dimples?
Link Posted: 3/22/2013 1:30:43 PM EST
[#12]
Thanks Ghostface.  I had a local gunshop do the dimpling, Dixie Precision Rifles out of Jackson, MS.   THey also did the cut and thread job.  Once I get it broke in with a few hundred rounds Im gonna do like you said and send the BCG to IonBond....then it will be done.

My AR-10.  Pretty plain Jane compared to some here, but it's an excellent shooter and I really enjoy it.  I have a LaRue A-Peg grip coming for it, otherwise I'm done messing with it.

My AR-10T. After getting a proper optic and trigger, I finally started reloading for it.  It shoots very well and now I favor it over my bolt action 308s.

Little update to my rifle, got new optics. Since I'm shooting mostly longer distances I didn't wanna skimp on the optics. Yeah needed to save money for a whole year to get it but it was worth it. Also in the wintertime bought the tactical brasscatcher which works just superbly. No more searching brass from snow

Finally got to shoot it. I used Winchester, DAG surplus, Wolf , and China Sports 308. I used two 10 round KAC mags, two ASC mags, and several 308 PMags. The mags all functioned 100%. Out of 120 rounds, I had 3 light strikes on the Wolf 308. I figured it was a combination of low powered Wolf and the gun getting a little dry.

Armalite AR10(T) Canadian DND model.

Canadian DND test rifle. They apparently stopped using the Badger Ordanance hand guard later on.  This one was part of the test procedure and was then sold. 200 rounds total in the upper only. The lower was new.

24" Lothar Walther ceramic coated 1:11.24 SS triple lapped barrel.

The phantom flash hider was re threaded and is in use only to protect the threads. These barrels have a 11/16-24TPI thread and they are profiled for the suppressor as well.

she's a great shooter ,  the extra weight of the gun helps tame the recoil

i'm 5'6" also but i'd have to add about 35lbs of ammo in a backpack to get to 160

Those with a long range ar10 and a bolt, do yall ever notice a difference in accuracy between guns? Can the ar10 be used as a sniper just as much as a bolt?
