Finally (almost) done. Aero lower with Geiselle SSA trigger. Odin Works 18" stainless match grade upper with rifle length gas and a VG6 Gamma brake. I'm still considering rattle canning the upper, but that's a later project. For now, it's a very nice shooter that's a pleasure to shoot.

 Sabre-10 with a few mock up parts. That's a fake suppressor, Griffin MGL-110 should be here by monday. Sending the upper off to D Wilson to install Rainier M110 barrel and m110 HTX gas block. Swapping scopes shortly. I trimmed the KAC grip a little. Almost a shame to take the PSA barrel off, it's one of the more accurate I've ever shot, sub MOA @100 with 5 different ammo types, multiple consecutive groups. Tried to take the handguard off today, the 2 horizontal bolts were easy, but the two tiny set screws in the bottom of the rail are glued in place with red threadlocker and torqued with the wheel of pain |

New to me POF Rogue with Revolution 16" rifle gas di barrel and adjustable gas block. Will run with an Omega 300 can. Haven't gotten to the range yet to get accuracy results. I have been lurking on the SFAR thread for 2 years and finally decided to get a lightweight 308. Found this here on the forum with several upgrades on the already respected Rogue platform and decided to "cry once" and try the more premium option in the lightweight 308 space. I love the feel and handling of this one compared to an old Gen1 bushmaster LR308 which was large, heavy, and cumbersome. With Bushnell LRTS 3-12 in ADM recon mount, empty mag, and Magpul QD sling is 10.25 lb. 11.25lb with Silencer. Dang scope + mount (2lb) really adds weight to the lightweight gun. Sling is a full pound too, then add ammo! Adds up quick.

My barrel & gas block just got back from ADCO and I think this it’s done. Hopefully I’ll be shooting it this weekend. 16” BA gov profile mid-gas cut down to 13.5” Attached File The suppressor is mounted with a Griffin EZ-Brake. I’m hoping it will help that little YHM out just a bit. Over all it’s just a tad longer than a 16” w/A2 birdcage. 11lbs 15.5oz as it sits (unloaded). Attached File |

Other than a taper suppressor mount/brake, I'm calling this one finally done. Installed the SA adjustable gas block today since my direct thread mount arrived. It's a heavy bastard with the SPR barrel, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it runs with the can.

I took my newly completed 13.5” 308 out yesterday and had some bizarre results. Sorry in advance for the novel… Attached File Here’s the parts list: Mid length Ballistic Advantage gov profile mid-gas 13.5” chopped down from 16”. Superlative gas block YHM Resonator K (Griffin EZ brake & Plan A) Toolcraft BCG (single ejector) M5 Upper and Lower Aero carbine buffer and spring Geissele SSA Leupold Mk-4HD 2-10 I started by shooting M80 ball to get the kinks worked out (gas block full open). To my surprise the gun cycled the first 5-rounds perfectly, 3 o’clock ejection w/bolt lock back on last round. …not what I was expecting. After owning two other AR10’s I expected serious tinkering to get it working. Next I loaded up a couple more to get a rough zero so I could start testing ammo. I aimed at a soup can on the berm at 50 yards that I planned on shooting a little later, and told my son to call the impact so I knew where to start adjusting the scope. I pulled the trigger and vaporized the can on the first shot… The next shot was in the center of the 12” steel gong at 100 yards. I guess my rough zero is done. Pretty strange for a brand new scope sitting on an unfired gun… A few clicks down to adjust for higher power 308 ammo and I started testing some factory loads. **I also adjusted the gas block to 15 clicks of bleed-off. This again yielded 3 o’clock ejection and lock back. Attached File 3-shot groups as that’s all I had left in a couple of the boxes. After each string I let the gun sit for 3-minutes to prevent anything from heating up too much. Attached File |

I thought it was interesting that the barrel didn’t seem to gravitate towards a particular weight or bullet. The best groups were as follows (using my scientific tape-measure method): Federal Premium 165 SGK - 1.75” Attached File Hornady Precision Hunter 178 ELD-X - 1.6” Attached File Hornady America Whitetail 150 Interlock - 1.25” Attached File The other three were as follows: Federal 180 Powershock. 4.25” Hornady 165 CX. 3.75” Hornady 165 Interlock 3.5” To be honest I was rooting for the cheap Hornady American Whitetail ammo, as I don’t want to feed this gun anything expensive if I don’t have to. I may try some of my reloads as well, but am pretty happy with this for a deer/hog rifle. Living in Indiana my shots are rarely over 100 yards and my average shot is 63 yards. I would feel confident with this out to 300 if needed, although that would be very unlikely. All in all I was pretty surprised with the gun; from the reliability, gassing, and accuracy. If anything I was a little let down, as I expected to have to mess with the gun to make it work; which for me is half the fun… |

16” carbine gas system, which is over gassed at the moment. Wish I would have gone with a midlength but didn’t know at the time. Thinking of going with heavier buffer to slow the BCG down so it cycles reliably. An adjustable gas block will work wonders. I had the same problem myself. |
