Interestingly most pieces were sourced from the EE so it’s also turning into my ARFCOM tribute My first A2 was built with the help of arfcom and I'm very grateful for that. Most of the parts came from here. I had a new, unfired and in wrapper a2 barrel from a member here that turned out to be perfect. I choose to keep mine stock with the round hand guards. I'm a retired Marine that had a A1 and A2. I took out my bayonet that was issued. My wife saw me looking at the Bud's website and gave me permission. Lol I've been to the range this week zeroing in and shooting. Your Son will love it. Attached File

I just ordered an M203 barrel mounted receiver from Rooftop and I realized I don't have the barrel stop for my M5 RAS kit. I know they came with the military kits but I guess mine is a commercial kit. KAC P/N: 97162, anyone have one knocking around?

Looking to (slowly) put together an A4. I have an issued FN upper receiver and KAC rail, but I'm trying to find the right barrel.
I presume the correct barrel is a 20" 1:7 CHF FN/Colt barrel? It's confusing because there are several different FN variations of the 20" barrel. Is this one the correct one? https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-20-hf-cl-mp-barrel.html |

Do you remember if that was the TAS-1 sling? Does it have an HK hook attached to the Spec Ops top ring? Edit: pretty sure it’s the TAS-1 just curious how you attached it to the stock. |

Do not hate me but this is my M16A4ish inspired rifle. I did the DD Omega rail for a FF and as you can see some other non-clone correct configuration items.

I like my A1, it’s a great rifle but it is almost so light and simple that it feels fragile to me. I never had any exposure to the A1 except for the clone I have. I can see how guys coming from the M14 would feel like the A1 is like a toy. The A4 is easily the most capable with the ability to easily mount optics, lights, lasers, bipods, and VFGs, but it pays for that in terms of weight. The A1, A2, and A3/A4 are like the three little bears. The A2 is in the middle and feels just right to me. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/557335/IMG_6260_jpeg-3035263.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/557335/IMG_6414_jpeg-3035264.JPG You have a grey haired dog I guess I have 3 A2s also. The wife vacuums constantly but it’s like pissing into the wind. The thing I can’t ever figure out is how their hard will manage to find their way into the very back of the safe of an AR that hasn’t seen daylight in a year with the dust cover closed, I pull the bolt and there will be pug hair. Photo thread. Someone was asking about slings earlier in the thread. I went with a BFG NSN sling with the BFG sling mount and a Specter gear Coyote stock mag pouch. I have seen this set up before in official A4 pics so that is what I went for. The stock mag pouch adds weight but it adds weight where it is really needed. The A4 fully set up is pretty front heavy. A loaded mag on the stock helps shift a lot of that weight to the rear and makes the rifle feel a lot lighter than it is. Attached File Attached File |

Picked up a new Colt AR15A4 to replace my old rollmarked one I stupidly sold and regretted selling.
The M16A4 was my rifle on my first deployment, and as much as I hated the giant fucking thing, it now has a nostalgic place in my heart, plus 20” 5.56 guns are just so pleasant and flat shooting at distance compared to carbines. The M600 is a place holder until I find a nice M951, and a UID label is ordered. On another note: does anyone know where one could find this decal for the ACOG? Attached File |

Does anyone know if NM-style FF tube will fit under a KAC/P&S drop in RAS? I have a decent A4 clone that I'd like to serve double-duty at local CMP-style shoots, and the FF tube gives a significant bang for the buck accuracy increase.

View Quote Yes, however you need to remove the clips for the 203 mount which is easily done by removing 2 rivets or you can modify the FF tube by removing a little material if you don't want to devalue your M5 RAS. |

If you are super autistic like I am you can cut slots in the tube to match the holes in the M5 and to clear the plastic insert that cover where the 203 goes, then thin the plastic insert to clear the tube and have the actual look for the most part of a M16A4. I have been using a setup like that for a long time. ETA: someone linked to a thread with a picture of my rifle in it where you can see exactly what I am talking about. |

I removed the heat shields, 203 spacer and the clips on the top piece. I did it to three of them for CMP/NRA service rifle matches. Daniel |
