M4 SOPMOD Picture Thread (Block I, 1.5/PR, II) (Page 230 of 240)

Got in my sleeve, excited to start piecing together stuff for this Haley clone. Came in way better than I'd expected, it's an early production #38-EX with the A2 windage knob, original steel clamp from the first Swan Sleeves (pre-numbering system), and no #35 mounting track down the center. Almost feel bad about painting it, if I come across a late model I'll probably use that instead.  Also still need to find a wingless NLS #17 for my #22-M68, a Comp M68 marked one would probably be more correct than a Comp II M68 but tracking down one of those seems more trouble than it's worth. I've seen CompM2s with those mounts sell for $650+, which is frankly overpriced for what you get out of it. I'll get one eventually though.  Hopefully the rest of the build won't be too hard, the M203 is obviously the hardest part. I'll probably get a 37mm one, I don't see any point in getting a tax stamp for a real one if I'll only ever be able to fire chalk rounds. |

Big piece of plywood. Put rifle on plywood. Paint rifle tan. Turn rifle over. Paint tan. Let dry for a minute. Paint brown streak/net pattern/vegetation etc.. Turn rifle over. Do the same thing on other side. Don’t prep or clean or anything beforehand. That’s gay. |

It gets the CitriStrip slimy residue off really well, gets off the paint that was softened up but not fully taken off by the Citri, and leaves the ano feeling nice and slick. ETA: Step 4, don't let anyone see the environmental nightmare you just created.
