Thanks!  I agree, I'm waiting/ hoping to see TNVC start selling an ATPIAL-c w/a green vis.

I wouldn't count on that happening anytime soon.  TNVC has already stated these are built on the same line as the full power units, so a green vis won't be happening.

That sux , the DBAL i2 would be the second choice and it just doesn't fit the bill for cloning the Block II. Looks like I'll have to go w/o, or get real lucky...

I'll have more pics next month when I get to take the can home.

EOTech EXPS3-2 with G33 magnifier, Surefire M952V, cheap shitty Chinese rail and foregrip ($40) (these are going to be replaced with a KAC M4 in the near future).

Upper is a PSA with a FN barrel, lower is a RRA.

Hate to be "that guy" but you're missing some pretty integral parts for it to be anywhere close to a SOPMOD clone.

True. But you gotta admit, he's got some balls for posting a chinese rail and vert grip in one of the SOPMOD clone threads.

I'm shopping around for a KAC M4, they are a bit scarce right now. Hopefully I'll have one by the end of next month. I've had the shitty chinese rail for 4 years now, and haven't had any issues with it, and it has got some pretty heavy use (2-3 rucks a week over mountain/alpine terrain for 3 years). Not gonna fix what ain't broke. Not like anything mounted on to it needs to hold a zero or anything.

Chrome BCG, replacement is on the way too. Optics and a can had priority over replacing the BCG and rail.

Dude, KAC RAS M4's are all over the EE.

There was a dude who had six brand new ones for $85 shipped each.

Got some better pictures of my "SOPMOD clone family."  I've been trying to get my indoor lighting setup figured out, but I've still got a lot of work to do.  This photography thing ain't easy.

The CQBSS will eventually be making it's way to my upcoming .308 AR build and I'll probably be adding a TA01NSN to the Phased Replacement clone.

Also got a Pelican 1700 from the girlfriend's parents for Christmas.  Got it setup for my "SOPMOD Kit."

Most likely, but it really depends weight and balance wise how the FSP will feel with the TA01NSN as compared to the Elcan.  The 14.5" cutout for the Pelican case will fit either of my 14.5" clone uppers (provided I remove the VFG on the PR) with either the Elcan or ACOG nicely.

I tried an NSN on my FSP a few months back and liked it.
The weight didn't feel much different than the 553 but I do prefer the EoTech on the FSP; And now, with the NF on the standard RISII, the TA01 had to find a different home.

Looks awesome.  We'll see how I like it.  All of my ACOG experience is with the dual illuminated TA31 models, not the TA01, so hopefully I like it.  It really is a tough decision, the 14.5" PR seems to balance a lot better with the Elcan than the FSP does.  I probably won't be definitive til I get both in hand though.

In all honesty, either will be better than with the CQBSS.  That thing is like a fucking brick.

ETA:  Speaking of which, is that a 1-4x Nightforce?  If so, what reticle and how do you like it?  I've looked at doing one of those, but I really don't like any of the reticle options on paper.  I'd really prefer a BDC (kind of interested in the FC-3G but haven't researched much) or simple mil-dot.

Yessir. 1-4x. FC-2 reticle. It's not the best for precision work, but I like it better than the mil-dot for use on 1x.

Honestly, if they would make these with a ta31H reticle, I'd own 5 or 6 of 'em.

If everyone is out of stock then you won't be able to find a brand new rail available for individual sale until DD announces they will be selling them again. The only way to obtain one right now is used market or buy a complete DD M4A1 upper. Sorry.

No frills, cheap thrills PR -

Loaner, back-up, hand-out carbine, LaserMax UNI-IR laser mounted behind the SU-233/PVS to protect the unit and the switches - not quite an ATPIAL yet on this one - it's about third or fourth on the list - but for the time being, it's night-capable, and should work reasonably well for the task -

The barrel is also among my last permanently pinned and "government" profile M4 barrels - non-NFA, suppressor capable, lightweight, day/night, 0-400m rifle.

I agree in principle, but NV is a pricey game to get into - and not everyone has reliable access to ranges/land where they can shoot at night regularly.  $4,000 or so for a PVS-14, helmet mount, and LAM can be a tough pill to swallow for one or two range trips a year for those that don't have access to places to shoot.

Finding places to shoot in the day is by comparison, relatively easy for pretty much everyone.

From a "capabilities" standpoint, sure, it's great to have - but if you can't train and/or have never been trained on them, those capabilities are meaningless anyways - a set of NODs and an IR laser doesn't instantly turn someone into a zero dark thirty kill machine.

Of course, I'm one to talk - I've bought almost no non-NV related gun items in nearly a year, and my PVS-14s are currently out to get "bino-ized."

Cool, I'm always curious to hear what people think of their equipment.
I'm mostly putting it off now because I can't decide between buying a 1-6x or a 1-4x, and because a rifle suppressor and a PVS-14 come in before an optic on my "need to buy list." I need to deploy again so I can buy nice stuff again, haha.

Since the CH is easily changed, gun guys usually swap for a BCM so yea, the Gunfighter is good to go.

I think I've owned half a dozen m4a1 dd ris rails and mk18 rails but I've never seen one marked like this. I picked it up in the ee, it's brand new. It appears completely legit in weight, feel, and otherwise in appearance. Thoughts?

Here is a pic of my other one. While well used, this is what I'm used to seeing as far as markings.

Interesting. It looks real to me, and I'm assuming they just simply changed their markings. But if thats a fake then it's a damn good fake. (Highly doubt it is tho)
