I used a carry handle off a Systema PTW M4-A1 Airsoft rifle, LOL, no seriously... It was the only thing I had to bridge the gap. If you look straight on at the barrel and end of the rail it looks like it's not gaped right, follow what I mean? It's shifted more towards one side than the other but I hand tightened my screws so the torque is probably all out of whack.

Generally don't use a block but do have this block (PRI) if alignment is off.  Alternating pattern would be (clock method) 12, 6, 9, 3

Why are they so expensive?  I'm buying a new DD m4a1, with the fde ris ii.  Guess it makes it a sweeter deal that the rail alone is going for so much!

Is there any proof it actually sold for $500? I saw it listed for that much, but another price could have been agreed on.

No, I just saw it in the ad for $500 and it was marked sold. Could have been agreed for another price, who knows.

You're damn right I do.

I might have to sell my house to get one, but as long as I have my block II and an Elcan I'm good with a cardboard box

Maybe I'll build a 3 story cardboard box, and I'll make the "basement" a dry room lined with a tarp to keep my ammo dry

Do you use something to lock the receiver and rail in place for alignment or are you saying that IF you torque the screws in an alternating pattern, it will just maintain alignment? I feel as thought my rail is not aligned correctly

What I mean by receiver mount is something that goes on the rail/upper to hold them in alignment. Not a receiver block.

Also not sure what you mean by 12, 6, 9, 3 exactly given there are 6 screws. Do you have a diagram of what you mean?

I think I know what your taking about now.  Crane made ours using two pieces of plastic and a hinge (tightens up in a vise).  I don't have a picture of it as its in Astan and I'm in Kuwait.  Here's a few I found on google images.

Clock doesn't line up correctly. With the flat top facing down on table, think of 11 (short), 5, 7, 1 (short), 9, 3

Have you guys heard anything about L3/Eotech's new logo on the hoods? Is this new for 2015, and are all new models marked this way?

I just purchased a new EXPS3-0TAN from DVOR. I liked the previous L3/Eotech marking better.

Yea its a new thing. A guy posted in the optics forum, that was the first guy on this forum to ever get one with the new logo and we all thought it was a knockoff lol. It's legit though. And I actually prefer the new logo to the old

Here's my semi-clone. There are a number of things wrong with this one including: Non-Colt lower, Magpul trigger guard, KAC ambi mag release, BADASS selector, SLR charging handle, black optics, and the Vortex FH. The Vortex will be unpinned and swapped out when I get the Form 1 for this lower. I'm still waiting on some Tango Down rail panels as well. I also still need to get a light.

Magpul trigger guard in the wild, therefore clone approved.

It's my sausage fingers that make me switch mine out. Good thing I'm not a proctologist.

I'll take it off your hands since it's too heavy.

Cool for you!

A friend had one that I got to handle on a nice SR-15...agreed, it is heavy. I had no idea that it was a combined RDS and 1-4x so that part was cool, but somehow I never could figure out the eye relief. Seemed really picky.

It does have a rather "tight" eyebox compared to a lot of other high end variables.  Hell, my old Burris MTAC 1-4x had a more forgiving eyebox.

The Elcan is not a RDS. It's a semi-variable 1x-4x scope. On 1x it focuses like a scope & not a RDS. You can install a MRDS on top of the housing.
