Thats not QD. I think he wants to ba able to swap one light between two rifles. I dont know of such a product. I have a QD MLOK and it gets a little loose/rattley over time with wear. Takes a bit of TLC with cleaning and lubing as well. I would just get two lights and use the factory picatinny mount... its lighter than the factory MLOK mount and has a better position for me too. If you want a choice of two beam patterns just swap heads on the light. If you are trying to use it as a handheld I tried that with a Larue QD back in the day. A QD picatinny lever makes the light suck as a handheld. |

MLOK is not meant for QD, and I would not use a QD mount with MLOK. The reason for this, is that the MLOK slot is precisely milled. The insides are flat to interface with the MLOK attachment nut. These flats are not meant to interface with wedges. Over time, you will wear down the flat inside the rail. Since the wedge interfaces with the longitudinal flats instead of the lateral flats, you won't "destroy your rail" for future use, but it's simply a shit design interface and the universe hates you for abusing it like this. Yes the KD is spring loaded to accomodate for some amount of wear. Yes it will work fine. It's still a bullshit interface. Attached File Attached File |
