I got my wires crossed between Denny and Dennys Guns and Wes at MSTN. Great times those were. Edwin do you remember a guy on the mrp thread I can't remember his username (maybe Alex is his real name), he had pics that looked like his mrp's had a fresh coat of oil on them at all times? Super nice guy super pro mrp, I think he got banned from here and then started a channel on YouTube. |

The web details the issue with barrel flex/handguard flex (whichever is accurate)but I figured I’d give it a try. None the less it makes me appreciate the rigidity the MRP offers. |

Can some of the smarter members help me out... I recently sent an MLR upper back to LMT due to the gas block being pinned to one side of the rail and the barrel being pretty significantly off of center. They took a look and sent it back, stating that the upper was put "through our straightening process, this is typically done on all upper receivers here beforehand." So the upper comes back, the barrel is far more centered, the gas block still seems to touch slightly or just has a tiny glimpse of light between it and the rail. Fine, I'll just deal with that. My problem is with seating the barrel now... Should the barrel extension be flush with the upper receiver or is that not necessary. I have to put an immense amount of pressure to get the barrel to go in and when I push it hard enough that the extension is damn near flush, the farthest forward bolt that secures the barrel has a lot of resistance to threading in. If I use a dowel and tap the barrel out slightly, the bolt will go in smoothly, but then I have a bit of a ridge between the receiver and barrel extension. Thanks for the response/ridicule in advance... * I will be messaging LMT as well, I was just hoping to do some gun-plumbing this weekend |

In both positions, bolt seems to be seating OK and going forward without resistance. It's likely less than 1mm difference. With the barrel pressed in as hard as I can, the extension is damn near flush with the receiver (looking through the ejection port), but the front bolt has excessive resistance to threading in. With the barrel tapped just slightly outward, there is a palpable drop from the receiver to the back of the barrel extension, but the front bolt threads in effortlessly. I guess it's time I finally get some headspace gauges... On a side note, thank you/damn you Duffy, after putting your stuff on my larue UU kits, everything, including my LMT's, gets all their guts replaced with FCD components. |

Buddy snapped this pic a SHOT. I've not seen this new upper yet. Looks like it brings the end of the handguard a bit closer to the shoulder of a (guessing 14.5in) barrel. Attached File |

Admittedly I have not followed the MRGG offerings, and I'm curious if LMT has started putting forward assist notches on their carriers for the MWS uppers that have them? I have a issue (3 but this one bothers me the most) with my MRP upper and I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue. I have a 13.25 Quad upper and 16inch barrel combo. Im trying to change my muzzle device but my reaction rod will only go til it touches the barrel extension then wont go any further. My reaction rod will fit and fully seat into the barrel extensions the 6 other uppers including my Estonian upper that I have. I did some researching and ended up watching a video by School of American Rifle. Its was the first video on 2 PSA Upper receiver Autopsies. At about 9:30, Chad explains that if the barrel extension is rotated your reaction will not fit. Today I called LMT service about my issues but the guy on the other end didn't want to hear what my issues are and didn't help me out at all. What I got out of of my call was "we're LMT we dont make shit products any issue is customer caused". So Im alittle frustrated. |

I dont remember having issues with them. Recently started getting into higher end stuff in the last couple years, mainly LMT and LMT has given me alot of grief. I feel like Im paying premium dollars for PSA quality. I emailed LMT Friday. See how they respond. I had a better experience last time with email. My MWS was not picking up rounds and was also keyholing. |

If I am changing muzzle device, I'd want to hold the part it's attached to, not another separate, screwed-on part. They're both right-hand threads, so the same torque used to loosen the MD is also working on loosening the barrel extension. Pull the 2 bolts on the MRP upper, remove the barrel and put it in a vice. I always thought this was one of the main benefits of the MRP system. |
