Honestly that's why I decided to ditch the CTR. I've been "Magpul all the things!" for so long I wanted to do something different. I did order 10 MCT Pmags, though |

Did the RC2 get picked up for a contract? Price and the occasions when RCs could be had for less than the RC2 aside, they didn't really update anything meaningful. They added the crenulated endcap and removed the vents on the blast baffle; arguably, the latter not necessarily being an improvement because it creates more backpressure. From what SF has stated, the main difference between the RC and RC2 is in the level of manual vs. automated welding/manufacturing, with the RC originally requiring much more human involvement and manual welding, whereas with the RC2 they streamlined and automated the majority of the manufacturing process. I'm not sure if that's still the case, but that was the basis given by SF when lowering the price on the RC2 (i.e. making it cheaper to manufacture). In other words, if you're concerned that by getting the RC you'd be missing out on meaningful updates or improvements, I don't really think that's the case. If anything, I prefer the older design with vented baffles. Of course, now that SF seems to be putting the RC2-style non-vented baffle into RCs, it would appear the only real difference now is the endcap. As far as I know, the RC2 hasn't been awarded any contracts, and the RC is still the official SOCOM can. |

RC1 is still the program of record for SOCOM. RC2 holds no active contracts that I'm aware of. However, the RC2 cans were assigned NSN's last summer. This essentially means they are easier for units to purchase now. Pure speculation but we may see some ITW because of that. RC1 and NT4 are still the clone correct cans. The only tangible benefit of the RC2 is price and availability IMO. Buy whichever you want. I have several of each but prefer the RC1. Not sure why they changed the blast baffle on the RC2. |

How many guys on here are running Acogs on their mk18?
Just curious because I run mine with one and majority of pics have Elcan DR (which I’ll one day get) or tan EoTech. I like mine with the Acog setup since I’ve got enough time behind it to somewhat comfortably shoot using the Bindon aiming concept. I just wanna know what others think about it. |

I've talked myself out of using my new FDE receivers for this build. It'll still be on Aero Precision receivers but at least they'll be the right color I think I've devised a nice plan rebuild my existing rifle on the new receivers and LMT stock, then sell it to fund an M4A1 Block II upper |

I bought an RC2 right before those were released thinking I wouldn't be able to get an RC. Then when they had those RC's for cheap I never bought one because I had the RC2. Eventually clone disease kicks in and you still end up buying the RC. I just picked up on of those coupons and will be ordering one soon lol. |
