Gotcha. Wasn't sure if it was a clone or not. Weird seeing that sight/mount combo with the crane marked lower.

Eta-thinking about throwing an a2 grip on it.

Isn’t it suppose to be stainless steel too? I know the badger ordinance is.

Yes, 416 black oxide and it comes with hex set screws instead of Torx.

Yes, it is supposed to be a type of stainless steel, 416 stainless steel machined bar stock.

Many other stainless steel gas blocks, such as Geissele and Vltor, are made of cast 17-4 stainless steel.

There are few clone MK12 gas blocks made of carbon steel and of chrome moly steel too.

Sometimes, but not often, 410 stainless steel is used to make gas blocks.

I've run everything from the cheapest steel case to Black Hills and bulk lead 22 LR and have never had an issue other than some sluggish feeding of steel case when the lube had been burned off.

Must be poorly built?
I've gone 1000s before wiping anything down or thoroughly cleaning and even had 1 gas ring left over and still ran fine. Suppressed and unsuppressed .

So is the Brownells listing wrong, or has DD switched it out for a non-MK12 gas block on the Brownells uppers now?

They always used to have the pinned gas block.

Maybe someone has a DD URG they recently purchased that can post a pic?

I have one of the non-pinned, MK12 gas block version from Brownells from 2019, IIRC.  They went to that after they stopped pinning them...now I’m wondering if they went away from the MK12 altogether.  Would be a bummer...

The DD 14.5" URG had the pinned last I saw. The Brownell's description was a bit disingenuous saying it was the same gas block currently issued to SOF or something like that. It is issued... on the URG-I.

Looks like they got the description straight from DD.

"GAS SYSTEM: Low Profile Gas Block CNC Machined of 4140 hardened steel with Mil-Spec Heavy Phosphate Coating, Carbine Length, Direct Impingement"

Took a gamble on 2 of these tonight. Used condition, we'll see what shows up and if they are the right ones.. If they are its a 2:1 deal versus buying new. I also ordered 2 of the Colt F/A non hot dog selector kits from Brownells. I'll have to do some filing when they arrive. It's time to swap safeties from the old brownells colt lowers.

Colt Used 3-Position ambi full auto selectors

Last time I made this bet on AU pictures versus text I ended up with a colt m16a1 gov't marked retro reissue lower for 500ish. Apparently they split one of the collectors rifles.

Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

The light gray ones are basically FDE vs. the dark black ones being offered. I think the seller I got one from has one left.

Full auto selector with semi fcg works exactly the same in semi as it does in auto.  When you combine a full auto selector with a full auto FCG that is where you may have issues such as hammer follow in the auto position.

I have seen where ppl have had to file down one of the "fins" on a fa safety selector, anyone know why that is? Is it necessary with some combos?

Depends if you want safe-semi-safe or safe-semi-semi

Also probably depends on trigger manufacturers and tolerances. I dont shave the fins on selectors.

Lol. The long arm selectors look like hotdogs.
They also do not resemble a selector from an issued rifle.
