CQD's sling mounts are the best, in my opinion, speaking outside the whole clone thing, I still prefer them.

Decided to change everything on the Mod 0. I parted out the old upper (DD barrel on Noveske receiver) and sent a spare 6920 upper to ADCO this morning. It's getting chopped from 16" to 10.3" and the gas port opened up to 0.070". It'll sit on a retro NoDak A1 lower with Colt internals when all is said and done. Hope to grace the pages here in a couple months.

So I am going to try FIREClean (it just came in the mail). I want to coat everything on my Block II CQBR upper (still on topic). Typically, I use CLP to clean and lube (and protect
), but if I clean with CLP, I have to turn right around and get the CLP off. Anybody have any words of wisdom? Carb Cleaner, Brake Cleaner, Simple Green, Dawn, Dishwasher...

A reputable dealer listed some Colt 11.5" heavy barrels for sale and it sounded like they were from an overrun of an order for FBI HRT. Anyone have more info on what they're using for their CQB guns? Might be another cool clone project... |
