At that price you might only need to sell a finger. Somebody buy one so I can vicariously own one through you until I move and all that jazz.

True but I figure at that price I can sell a good part and get one for everything I own!!!!!

There's no contest considering your Colt upper and what it's turning into.

JP- I'll give you 800 per finger but only if you sell me all 10.

Decisions decisions.

FDE SureFire SOCOM Mini for $800 shipped or FDE SOCOM RC for $800 shipped?

I already have an RC pending...

If you already bought an RC, I say Mini...

Was kinda thinking the same.

Still a tough call though as I have a line on some incoming AAC Mini 4s for $500.

May get a second RC as a dedicated can for my Block II FSP or something.

Real tough call as I just need one more 5.56 can for the foreseeable future.

Don't really know why I'm posting this in here but I figure you guys would want to know. My Colt SOCOM bbl is crazy accurate compared to my BCM SOCOM. I don't think it was the ACOG either. My BCM bbl was shooting around 4-5 MOA with ZQI's version of M855. My new Colt bbl was probably holding under 2MOA with the same ammo on a deployed grip-pod.

Although it was hard to judge because of conditions, I do know for a fact from what I saw that my Colt barrel holds at least twice as tight of a group if not more.

The round count on the BCM is totaled at 1700 rounds between me and the previous owner, no keyholing.

Just interesting data to me.

I can't comment on BCM SOCOM profile barrels, but I've never been all that impressed with the accuracy from my BCM govt profile barrels.

Mind you, one of my all time favorite ARs is my BCM 14.5" mid with 13" KMR. Stupid light and crazy soft shooting.

Though this is why I have went with DD barrels for my last six builds. There's just something about a CHF barrel that's always MOA or better.

My brand new BCM SOCOM barrel I had before this last one (3 SOCOM's ago )
also only held 3-4 MOA brand spanking new.

This could either tell us- Colt barrels are more accurate than BCM, or-
The fact this BCM SOCOM was on a PR. (non free floated KAC m4 RIS)

Possibly both were contributing factors. But what I can say for sure is this Colt SOCOM is a fucking tack driver compared to my BCM SOCOM barreled weapons. (PR and B2)

Could it also have a little to do with chrome lined vs non? From what I know colts aren't chrome lined, but my BCM is.

Colts are CL. They just aren't CHF.

ETA - and while BCM offers CHF barrels, their SOCOM barrels aren't CHF either. So it's a pretty apples to apples comparison with a Colt and BCM SOCOM barrel.

To those that actually own the Socom-RC, what are your honest opinions? If I were to swing one of the AIM ones I would probably end up selling the lower from my B2 as well as some other misc clone parts.

The can would switch between by CQBR and Block II upper. Is it still somewhat quiet on the 10.3" barreled upper?

Colt's are chrome lined. My barrel is the same exact barrel on military M4A1's. It's just by chance that it ended up on my rifle instead of a mil M4A1.

The BCM'S are chrome lined as well.

well............since an AR with supersonic rounds will never be considered hearing safe, what are your criteria for quietness?  I've got a Socom RC on my CQBR and a buddy of mine went to the range with me. We were shooting from under the tin roof and he made the comment that my AR wasn;t very quiet for having a suppressor on it, so I let him shoot it without the can. He was about to shoot when I noticed he didn't have ear pro in. I stopped him and told him he needed ear pro......he says "naw, I'm used to loud noises" (he works highway construction). Anyway, one round and I thought he was going to cry like a baby. He had to admit that the RC was pretty quiet compared to unsuppressed.
