Just wait... I bet you end up buying a PVS14 next year lol.

After having NV it is definitely worth it. If I didn't have it I would sell multiple guns to get it. I would rather have one gun and NV than a ton of guns and no NV.

That's really interesting. Much to think about, you've given me

ETA: That's a great pic of some really rad clones and helmet rig.

Looks Strange as Hell with a Car stock and looks out of place.  The SOPMOD stock looks Perfect  on any M4 since 2000.

hey guys got a couple gas port questions. First what is the size of the gas port on a 10.5 lmt upper. Second what is the correct size gas port for a mod 0. I plan on eventually running it suppressed so I don't know if that makes a difference. The only reason I ask is because I'm getting ready to send my upper off to adco to city it down and figured I could get them to drill the port while it's there. Thanks for all the info guys. Also hope everyone had a great Christmas!

If a guy were contemplating whether or not to sell a NIB FDE Mk18 RIS to start saving for a PVS-14.....

Would it be better to sell the rail by itself or have a barely used (50 rounds or so) 6920 upper cut to 10.3 and ported to .070 by ADCO and sell it as an upper with the rail installed minus BCG?

Depends on how fast you want it to sell.  If you're not in a hurry, I'd do a full upper (and maybe even throw in a standard toolcraft BCG).  You could likely get close to half a decent PVS for it.

FWIW....OGA uses the unmolested 10.5 LMT barrel, initially in block 1 then in block 2 config.   Only mod was eventually chopping the FSB and lug to fit the free float rail(DD).  But the barrel was left at 10.5" and the gas sport is as delivered from LMT...and it will shoot anything from 55 gr 223 to 62 gr 556 flawlessly both suppressed and unsupressed(NT4).  It's so reliable in fact, it remains an option even after the 416 was added to inventory for those who prefer the DGI platform.

I'm really hung up on optics right now. I've had, in the past, a 553, an EXPS3, aT1, and an Elcan on my CQBR. Looking back at pics trying to decide what to buy it. An Elcan is out of the question right now as I need to buy an AEM5 for Holly and I kind of want a corn cob for the CQBR as well, and I've decided that I need a PVS-14 and all of those would have higher priority than an Elcan for now. The CQBR currently wears an Aimpoint ACO with a tan rubber condom just so it has something decent

^ This. In your situation I'd say EOTech is best tech. Go for an EXPS3-0.

What about a comp m4s. Always look good and keeps it in a decent budget so the NV is easily purchasable. Just a suggestion. I love the way they look on cqbr's.

Didn't think about that. Not a bad idea, if I could find one in the $425-450 range. If I were to spend more than that I'd want an Eotech or T1

EOTechs put the aimpoint dot to shame under NODs for me.

I regret offloading my 553 and exps 3-0. If you want to shoot passive under nods, the EoTech is the best offering to do so. I have a couple of Elcans and after running them, I think an aimpoint or Eotech on an SBR is what is best and most practical. Unless you plan on using your CQBR a bunch in an over watch or recce role, I would stick with the eotech...

If I had a dollar for every time someone has posted looking for CQD mounts I could outright buy CQD as a company. I've never understood how it's so difficult.
