Color codes for the XM276 dim tracer:
yellow over white white over orange headstamp FA68 pink FA68 - 550 yards white over pink LC69 - 1100 yds green over pink LC69 - 930 yds green over white LC70 - GMCS bullet green over white LC92 - GM bullet purple LC95 - M276 There is also a red over white and a white over red (Gene Scrantons book page 130.5) Also orange with yellow stripe and orange over white with headstamps FA60 for random tests for the M62 trainer The MMU (Man Marker Unit) uses a special bolt so that you can't load a real live round into the chamber. It uses a 2 priming cartridge system that is the first to isolate the large amount of operational energy needed to cycle the weapon from the small amount of energy required for propelling the projectile which is primarily for force on force training. With an average muzzle energy of less than 3 ft/lbs, which allows for a safe seperation distance of 1 meter, and having a typical accuracy of 1 in groups at 10 yds. The isolated and contained rear primer expands the the MMR (man marking round) which functions the UTM blow back system. This realisticly and reliably cycles the converted weapon.
