Damn.

Hopefully the delay is due to manufacturing time and not .gov intervention.

It wont happen, because were all crazy evil gun nuts, that love to murder milk jugs of water, ballistic gel, paper targets, barrels, spray paint etc.  When are these ass's going to realize 99% of fire arm related crimes are using hand guns. (pulling this number out of my ass, but I know the mass majority is with hand guns). Oh wait, I almost forgot they don't give a rats ass about facts that don't line up with their agenda.

In the long run though, the people get what they want, they always figure out a way. Especially if there is money to be made.

Franklin Armory replied to a post on Facebook earlier saying that the trigger is coming on the market, probably in July.

Their response to my post:

"It will be available VERY soon.  The ATF should be done reviewing the second prototype any day now.  In the mean time, we have sought a third party legal review of the BFS.  Their conclusion was that the trigger is consistent with federal law as a semiautomatic firearm.  If all goes well, we will likely start accept orders in 30 days or so."

I'm going to sell one of my kidneys and buy ten.

This is the most excited I've been for anything gun related in a long time.

Very much a "game change"

You need to start a thread on the 241 to talk about it-I have a 3MR and like it, would be interested to hear about the 241

Lol. No.  They came back and said almost the opposite near the end of last year.

Well I do have a pistol with the Sig brace and while I won't make any incriminating videos, I am not going to worry about the ATF.  I think the assisted reset of the Tac-Con or the spiffy position of the upcoming Franklin shines with pistols or SBR's.

The question is, is this a rifle trigger and a pistol trigger?

I am referring to the franklin trigger, would it be approved solely for rifles?

I don't think there is a difference it is a AR or MSR component, I don't think the ATF will drill down that far.

I just went to the Franklin website and found nothing on the subject trigger, you can buy their enhanced lower parts kit which includes a tuned single stage trigger for $125, about $45 more than their regular lower parts kit.  Since accuracy is primarily the barrel and trigger, this seems like a winner of a deal.

Their tuned single stage isn't a bad trigger. I used one in the F17L I tested a while back. It was breaking consistently at 4.5LBS IIRC, or maybe it was 4LBS.

However, I'm not a big fan of single stage triggers, especially for a precision or hunting rig. I much prefer a 3.5-4LB two-stage for those instances.

For a range/tactical gun, it was a nice trigger for sure. Especially for the money when included with their LPK.

When people introduce these new triggers they REALLY should wait until everything's approved and production has started. I've moved on, just bought an SSA today.

What does buying an SSA have to do with this trigger?  I have a Geissele or CMC in every AR I own.  I still want one of these.

I'm guessing he (like a lot of people in this thread) don't realize this trigger is trying to do something entirely different than the SSA or other triggers on the market. Perhaps the exception being the Taccon, but we all know how that worked out.

The Tac-con worked out fine for people that read the product description and didn't let them bullshit themselves into thinking it would creat a legal post 86 machinegun out of their AR..

Yeah...but Tac-Con basically put together a bunch of fancy videos and deliberately kept technical data about the trigger minimal in what is likely a sketchy effort to make people think they were basically going to be buying a full auto trigger.

I don't think anybody expected to create a machine gun, but there was some expectation that it would let you shoot reasonably steady, reasonably high  RPM strings of fire, instead of being slower than a S3G.

I don't want to hijack Franklin Armory's thread about a competitor's product, but I have to say that you are wrong. Tac-con described exactly what the trigger did on their website and press releases, there was no fraud. They delivered exactly what they said they would, they just didn't deliver on the expectations of people that extrapolated in their own desire to have a legal machine-gun.

I'm still happy with mine.
