Yeah I told him in our PMs that I thought the title while I guess technically accurate did hurt it. That and having it end after 10pm on a Tuesday night.

I don’t think they are worth $700 personally but you never know. I’d buy the $800 mvp 12 before the C MP B but I guess it depends on what you’re building.

Just like probably almost everyone here I’ve overpaid what I felt a part was worth before just because it was the only one I could find and I wanted to be done. There is also the transferable market at play with this stuff on occasion. Paying $700 for a barrel isn’t a big thing when you’re replacing one on a 30-40k machine gun as it is when you’re building a clone.

So what is a Orginal H&R M16a1 barrel with the single c stamp, left side upside down MP and flashing on the FSB going for .

I have an M16A1 upper with a variety of early features:
"C H" marked A1 Upper with teardrop forward assist and no brass deflector
Barrel marked "12" which would indicate 1963 till Fall of 1967
Proof marked "P" and "MP" at the front sight base. I believe that this was done from 1966 to 1969.
A1 Flash Hider with split washer
Cast Front Sight Base without a "C" or bell marking which was used between 1964 and 1969.
Stainless Steel gas tube which started in 1969 (could have been replaced)
Ejection Port Cover, later style
Colt "C" marked Full Auto bolt carrier group with Parco-Lubrite finish and chromed interior. The firing pin retaining pin is the earlier machined version.
Straight / flat handguard retaining ring
No Handguard
Light surface rust on the barrel under the handguard

Any insights about this upper would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Arf...

I want to start off by saying that I know nothing about retro AR's.  I have a question about a grip I have and if it's worth anything.  Got this in a box of parts that I've had for several years.  I just ran across an EE ad selling a similar looking grip so I thought "hey, maybe I can sell mine" lol

Question..is this worth anything or should I just chuck it in my box of A2's

Anybody have an estimate on how mych a complet 601 parts kit in virtually perfect condition would go for?

Kit is complete less lower receiver. Handguards have very minor wear of the green paint with brown showing. Original W marked barrel in near perfect condition, cast FSB, many circles mag release. All from a sub 10,000 SN gun.

Curious Q. Came across a circle 1 mag but has a transitional Colt/Armalite marked floorplate. I know at one time transitionals were selling up near $300 each, I've just never seen a circle 1 with a transition plate. Any thoughts on a price?

I know that the Armalite mags are worth $250-300 range. That mag id be skeptical of as the circle 1 is a $75 mag and the bodies were doffernt slightly on the Armalite mags.

The floorplate may be swapped or a repro but I wouldn’t place a value anything over $75-100 at most for it

I’m look for some guidance on value of two Colt mostly complete upper receiver groups. They’re both 11” barreled uppers with carry handle upper receivers. One has an A1 rear sight assembly, the other has an A2 rear sight assembly. Both of them are missing the factory handguards. The A2 is “C M” Colt Marietta marked on the carry handle and the A1 is marked “C H” Colt Harvey Forge. The condition is used, definitely government surplus with honest wear and scratches. Thanks in advance for your help!

Anyone have a rough idea what a complete minus bolt original barreled M16A1 upper with triangle handguards is worth these days?  I know barrel markings can influence that a bit.  (I have a couple packed away and thinking about cleaning out some stuff I am not using at this point...)

Also, what is market value these days on an original early bend gas tube?

Trying to get a value on. 1973 colt sp1, a friend of mine passed away a couple years ago and his daughter is looking to sell some of his stuff because she’s in need of $ her boyfriend left her and her daughter in a bad situation, I’m trying to help her out. Just don’t know much about SP1’s. I myself would say it’s worth about $2500 but not sure. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.not sure how to post pics on this thread

Hey retro guys what can I reasonably expect to ask for my old school Trijicon 1x24 Reflex (ACOG) sight and correct RX-10 gooseneck mount? Sight still has original front light adjustment and I have the original packaging for the mount. It's lived on my A2 for a few years but I'm bored with it.

That sounds ballpark right for an SP1 depending on the condition and if it has the box/accessories- probably closer to $2K for just the gun.

Best bet is go on Gunbroker and search SP1 and see what the bids are getting up to for seeing what current fair market value is.

Easily $500 to possibly more if a couple of bidders get on it on Ebay or Gunbroker, they have become a hot item as they have hit that 30 year mark and are no longer made.  The DOE build guys love 'em.  

They are a terrible optic , but very unique a identifiable.

What are VERY pretty gray original colt slick side small pin uppers going for now days? M16A1 and SP1 uppers?

Did a GB search and saw some ugly girls actually selling for 5 hundo?

I've been out of the search for several years but the last one I bought was $150 for a pristine SP1 from Reno.

Have prices really gone that high?

Approximate value of some older used FSB's and some early(?) M16A2 handguards? -
- 2x Colt front sight blocks / gas blocks - estimated 1967-1969 (Forged, smoothed flashing),
- and 3x GM Hydramatic front sight blocks / gas blocks :

All are used, some have the finish stripped, some look like some heavy pitting, some look like they were hammered on to get pins out. ALL fit properly on a .625 journal, gas tubes fit as they should.

If you look at the recently ended auctions for Proto, it looks like 1800 and 1900.  I sold mine for $2200 I think, but I had the Pegasus logo engraved on it and had done a cerakote fake bakelite finish on the furniture.   They are a niche item for sure and things aren't selling that great right now.

I have an airsoft singlepoint scope replica that was part of the DNA kit from a year or to ago, brand new never used, what do would be a fair price? I would be keeping the mount.

Looking to help value and early 1971 SP1. Here are a few key features. Overall good condition, it has been shot very little, no scratches or chips on the receivers and the furniture is in great shape. Has the Edgewater buffer, smoothed FSB, CMPC barrel,  Duck bill flash hider, has the trap door stock, which kinda surprised me. Serial number range 17,1XX,
2 original 20 rd Colt Mags, NO Box, manuals or sling. Condition…I would rate a 9 out of 10 maybe even 9.5 it’s a very nice firearm for the age.

Thoughts on a Value?

NDS lowers are up and down.  H&R options have dragged values lower for sure.  That said, I’d give $300 on a mint NDS 601 to finish another build off

Hi, brand new to this forum. I'm looking for the value of a Colt 621 upper. It appears to have never been fired, there are almost no scratches and the brass deflector has no marks from casings. There is no BCG or charging handle.

Thinking of selling my GM upper. Not sure what it's worth.

Years ago I got an NOS GM: unpopulated barrel, NOS FSB, NOS stripped bolt, NOS FH, NOS handguards and NOS pistol grip from a member here. I had JT pin the FSB.

Upper is a super nice GM with all correct parts. CH shows a little wear. Bolt carrier is a minty GM and the stripped bolt was finished with modern colt parts. Slip ring was NOS GI.

The handguards on it are used GM, and the NOS GM ones (shown) have some light rubber band marks on them that need to be cleaned off.

Never been fired. I never will while I own it.

I've got one of the surplus A2 uppers OOW was selling 10 years ago or so along with a BCA A2 marked lower.  Any rough appraisal on that as I look to liquidate a part of my collection?
