I carried a Hydra-Matic converted to A2 in the early 90s. It had a black spray painted looking lower with a "2" overstamping the 1, and the "auto" was ground off and "burst" crookedly stamped. The A2 upper was purple. It looked pathetic, but ran great! Here is my version so far. I'm still on the fence with the spray paint, overstamping and grinding.

Very cool. Not to be overly anal..... But this thread was meant to be a vintage A2 Real Deal or close clone thread. Not the newfangled stuff.... The other A2 pic thread might be best for that. I really don't care either way. Or maybe I do. But hopefully I'm not coming across as a jerk. Just making an observation. I really like your carbine set up though. I've been trying to put back in the pics we lost from photobucket that I may have put in.....
