READ MANUAL BEFORE USE (lousy engraving cause of you suing yanks !!!) I posted proofs that it is not. I don't know what is taht hole, there is a marking inside, just a point and a letter. the gun is german, and germans love to put markings everywhere. |

Well after viewing all 21 pages of pictures, I think I have come up with a combination which has not been shown before. The idea behind this build was to make a dedicated .22lr AR-15 with accuracy first and foremost to simulate high power rifle shooting. This build started as a box of parts, then machined to fit and get the function perfect. The list of components are:
Anschutz .22lr match rifle blank. It is 19.25" long, machined down from 1.250" in diameter to 0.980", just enough to clear the delta ring, along with a 0.750" front sight mounting area. Chambered with a PTG match reamer. Spikes Tactical lower receiver Spikes Tactical flat top upper receiver Model 1 .22lr bolt Magpul PRS stock JP Enterprises .154 fire control package DPMS lower parts kit Accu-wedge DPMS free floating handguard Lyman 90MJT rear target sight, with Lipski AR-15 sight base Sinclair AR-15 match front sight with 22mm aperture Full shot: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/AzizaVFR/BangToys/AR-22_1.jpg Front sight and blued/spiderwebbed barrel http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/AzizaVFR/BangToys/AR-22_2.jpg Receiver assembly http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/AzizaVFR/BangToys/AR-22_3.jpg http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/AzizaVFR/BangToys/AR-22_6.jpg Close-up of bolt assembly and chamber http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/AzizaVFR/BangToys/AR-22_4.jpg http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/AzizaVFR/BangToys/AR-22_5.jpg After finally assembly, this proof target was shot. This 50 round group was conducted at 50 yards, using Winchester T22 ammo. The wind was blowing from left to right at 15-25mph (you have to love North Texas wind). Each square is 1". http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/AzizaVFR/BangToys/50yd_proof_target.jpg This was assembled and build by Gene Williams at WGR in Princeton, Texas. |

Holy Crap! Nice group considering you're not using optics.
Well that's about the ugliest thing(kidding) I've seen in 21 pages but hey,to each his own. It's all about personal flavor and the groupings apparently work quite well too.Cheers to going against the grain!
Just never seen the sights before, personally I think it detracts from the gun but it's not my gun...OK,I'll shut up now. |
Those kinds of sights are used in High Power rifle competitions. The ranges are from 200 yards out to 1000 yards. Also, there are the type of sights used on Olympic air rifles and rimfire competitions.

cool setup aziza, I'm actually surprised noone had done a build like that yet. it is indeed a great tool to practice for highpower and whatnot. is there any way to mount a shooting sling? it would certainly be a blast at an appleseed shoot

The buttstock has two sling points. I am also going to add a hand stop/sling loops to the forearm tube, similar to the Tubb 2K rifle. That will give me the mounting points I need.

How does it work out for you? It looks like it all fits great, but I can't figure out the reddot, ATN? What base? How does it affect co-witnessing? Thanks, I appreciate any details you fill in. I Might scope it to see how tight I can get it later when I can afford a scope for it. |

I just picked this guy up yesterday. I was gonna get the GSG-5 but thanks to the fact that they only had the ugly 1st Anniversary Ed. Silver and Gunmetal, no black. I went with the Umarex M4 OPS. The salesman showed me the carbine version first. but then I saw the OPS version. swooped on it like a fat kid on a cupcake.
CAA stock, old SOG vert grip, SF M952, TLR-1 next on the list is folding front sight and MIAD grip. http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/9026/dsc0247rpk.jpg http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/5805/dsc0250z.jpg http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/4496/dsc0254sme.jpg http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/7258/dsc0257jql.jpg http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/2750/dsc0259o.jpg |
