Always,

24gr TAC Rem 7-1/2 primer 75gr BTHP Frontier brass 2.25oal

2475 out of my 12.5 with AEM5 at sea level at 65 degrees.

This load was a monster in my NSW RECCE. Shoots ok in this barrel.

I'm going to bump it up to 25gr with some 5.56 brass and magnum primer and see if I can get to 2550 or higher.

Same specs with 69 SMK is 2508 at 80 degrees.

My 2520 load is 2720 I believe it's 26gr with a 55gr spbt

Right on. I'm going to be loading heavies for this 14" and I haven't decided on powder yet.

TAC is great. Varget is always super accurate just a little slow sometimes. All depends on your pressure signs. Never really messed with other powder for 223. I've got this AA2520 but I'm not a fan. I've heard the VIht powders are great and XBR.

I was at 2620 in my 15.1 Bartlein with that 75 load.

XBR and CFE are my go-to powders for barrels 16" and under. Varget is a classic but meters like crap. The mini recce has seen many a round of 24.5gr CFE behind a 77gr SMK.

XBR is generally hard to find. Might have to steal that cfe load. Tac is cheap and available in bulk.

Thinking of ditching the noveske rail. I like sturdier feeling rails. Also used to my CQBR. Whats the cons of the pri tube? I wouldnt mind tucking my sandman about an inch.

So there I was, drinking a heady tropical IPA last Sunday afternoon - my fourth, as I recall. It was a lovely day; breezy, upper 70s, and I was surrounded by beautiful women "dressed" in provocative ensembles vying for every last ounce of my uninterested attention. I was also on the ol' interwebz, and I'd stumbled upon a deal I just couldn't refuse... It was a scope for my mini and all those aforementioned dames cheered me on as it typed the classic line, "I'll take it!" and clicked submit.

Tune in tomorrow for the conclusion of this riveting tale.

HAHAHA!

I think it was in the middle of the woods on a muddy shooting range. Utah looked at me about 20 minutes after shooting the NX8 and said "Man, I dunno about the MK6 anymore..."

I suppose a PRI rifle tube would look silly with a 14" barrel and no aem5? I'm exploring rail options.

Also @SDMF_Rebel what part of PA you from?

Took the 12.5" mini RECCE out to 800yds last weekend. It did AWESOME with a 4x TA31. I see no reason to go LPVO, the Triji is SO clear. I could see 1k plates all day. Didnt go past 800 cause i ran out of bdc. Lol.

400,500,600,700,800yds all hits on rocks and plates. Wind hold was about 1-2ft for 600-800yds. 600 was 650 hold, 700 was 725 hold, 800 was about where 850-875 would be. Load was 75gr OTM hornady, over 23.2gr 8208XBR.

If first impressions are everything, then I don't reckon the NX8/Unimount combo can be fucked with.

I've thought about doing a build with a PRI tube and a MD flush with the end of the rail. I think it would look good, especially with a suppressor.

Thanks gents. I've known all along NF glass is my favorite so it didn't take for @Eyekahn to convince me. I ditched the Mk6 for the NX8 and I picked up a 4-16x ATACR for the SR-25EC. Still got the Mk8 but I hope it sells ASAP.

@rgb, I went with the A496 (1.50", 0 MOA) for the mini, and A497 (1.50", 0 MOA) for the SR-25. Seems a little weird not using something with 19 or 20 MOA built in but like Clay said, these scopes have a lot of adjustment built in.

Took a vacation day, since I don’t see me having a family vacation this year... Poured down rain the first hour but printed some good groups. I really need to take a class next year with this setup once the Surefire Mini clears.

I also bought a J-Arm and an RMR plate for the C1 mount. Maybe it’s dumb to run one with a scope that does so well on 1x but I’m itching to try it out once I order an RMR.

If first impressions are everything, then I don't reckon the NX8/Unimount combo can be fucked with.

I've been hip to the NX8 since page 82. But I did rip off everything else from you!

Does a soon-to-be mini recce count? lol I've been inspired by this thread and I'm almost there.. just a few more small pieces, and an efile away!

Have a bunch of parts coming in for a mini recce... I’m sure it’ll look a lot like u/ RTUTAH’s... because his has given me all the feels since he put it together.

Going to run a 11.3” wilson, KAC medium ff RAS, and a NXS 2.5-10x24 in badger rings.

Will probably end up piggybacking a Docter in a Wilcox mount if my boy will come up off his mount. Torn as to which  of two cans I have in jail right now I will run on it... aac m4-2000 or RC2.

RC2! Those 11.3 Wilson's are sick barrels. This gives you a rough idea what's its like with an AAC. 11.3 Wilson with medium RAS. I ran a N6 instead of an M42K though.

I am so tempted to switch my mini NSW to the turbo + 11.5 to shave a ton of weight.
