I din't mean to offend you.  Where else do the 14.5's belong?  I figured a RECCE was 16" and anything shorter was mini.

I've never considered an M4 as a mini rifle, but it has a 14.5" barrel, too.

Oh yeah, then there's that pesky 14.5" precision rifle pic thread already started long before this one, but I suppose they don't belong there either.

You're good. this thread is for 14.5 and under as stated by OP in first post.

Mattyvac was just wishing it was a more exclusive club!

took the 11.5 out to the range for the first time, this past weekend.  It is my first re-barrel...so i am happy it was just cycling correctly!

but I am happy to report that produced less than 1.5 MOA at 200 yards.

At first I had it at 14.5 SBR an under, since that is what one of mine was  Soon, it will be a 13.7 SBR

Just thought we would get more traffic with 14.5, and there are really some nice ones out there.

I had to include 14.5, because when I asked about 14.5 being a Recce, I was nearly voted off the island.

Not trying to spoil anything, but in the effort of trying to be 'inclusive for the sake of traffic' the thread is now diluted. 14.5" rifles aren't 'mini' by any means.

IMO this thread should be 12.5" and under. Everything else is just a normal recce...

I understand what you are saying, and while I agree, it was mainly due to the statements made when I asked in the Recce and SPR threads.  I was told that 14.5 did not a RECCE make...

See, if you had been there to defend it, we would be in a whole new world, now

So, what I am saying is...it's all your fault.

Exactly! I caught flak for my 14.5 in the recce thread, got the whole fucking wiki page thrown at me. 14.5 and now 13.7 allow those of us (including me) that are for example poor college kids and can't go the NFA right away.
Here's my range results for the Weapon Outfitters barrel with a VCOG @ 200 yd using .223 55g PMC Bronze 1.5"-4" group on a mini IPSC c-zone target elevated 5' off the ground, prone supported off my Kifaru bag.

Thats a nice setup.  If they kick 13.7" barrels out of this thread I'll start a 13.7" w/BE Meyers club with you OneRanger. I hope I get my upper back soon, I'm anxious to try it out.

"Nice, welcome to our tiny super badass club Please report back in regards to the Green Mt barrel."

I've got a 1/9 twist 14.5" Green Mountain barrel on a Mega kiss build. It's the most accurate barrel I own with 55 grain ammo... I haven't tried anything heavier but will. I think I like the 1/9 twist the best of all my 1/7 barrels for shooting 55grain bulk Federal, IMI, and X-Tac.

Sweet mini, I had KX3 on my "first mod" mini-recce, I love that device. Ditch the pri and centurion and check out the ALG Defense EMRs (it's kinda the way things are going around these parts).

Were you referring to jmregan, or me (the one who posted his wife's purple Mini RECCE)?

If me, mine is on page 9. However, the scope and mount are being shared between the two. Mine has iron installed again. I like the Mini RECCE, however I love shooting that rifle with irons.

I'm hoping to do an accuracy eval on this GM 14.5" barrel as soon as the weather allows.

I have noticed just the opposite.

The proliferation of 15" rails offered by so many manufacturers today is fairly widespread.

12" was the thing to have on 14.5s, and now everybody offers a 13-14

I am building a 8.5" 300blkout upper to run on my SBR.  I have a YHM .30cal can on order for it as well.  The rings for the 1-4x scope came in so I decided to put it on my 5.56 7.5" upper to see what would happen.  I borrowed my brother 30cal can to try a few shots suppressed as well.

I am very happy with the Aero 7.5" barrel.  It groups about 2.5" groups without a bi-pod just braced with wood blocks.  Using Fedral American Eagle black box ammo.

The blackout will be a 100-150yrd max shooter, and a home defense with subs and a can, so I might keep the 1-4x scope on it or I might go with a 2-7x and keep the 1-4x on the 7.5" upper.  The break shield actually threw up quite a bit of flash through the scope.  Still manageable though.

I think RTUtah got the last one in existence, I haven't seen one for sale for a long time.  I originally wanted to do the 13.7" BE Meyers Mini recce with that exact rail, due to price and availability I decided to go with the URX II.

This thread has pulled me in. Awesome concept and rifles!! So quick question. I have a spare sbr'd lower, a 13" Troy Alpha rail, and both an AAC Brakeout and a Blackout FH (M42k in NFA Jail).

I was planning on doing a 14.5" barrel on it but am now considering the RA Match 13.7". Does anybody run a similar setup (13" rail w/ 13.7" barrel) and know if that leaves enough clearance for the can?

I was also considering a 12.5" with 11" rail but already have the spare Alpha.  Thanks.

I run a 13.7" with a 13" rail, I can almost guarantee you won't get clearance. My 1/8" (it's a thick spacer) spacer for my BE 249F lines up exactly with the end of the rail. Assuming you'll run no spacers/washers, or just one really thin spacer/washer I don't see it happening. IF you're dead set on that 13" Alpha, you could cut and re-crown your 14.5 " to 14" and save the hassle, and it would be cool/unique/mini I'm gearing up for a can too, and I've already planned on swapping my 13" EMR for a 10"/12" EMR when the V2s go up on ALGs stie.
