| I'm not being critical here at all so let me start off by saying that, but... when did having a standard FSB become anything Recce??? I know the definition of a Recce is up for interpretation but having a 16" free floated (stainless) barrel, carbine gas, a full length rail atop a low pro gas block, set of back up iron sights, and a variable power scope was the rough definition. Does the Mini-Recce criteria since it was created in this thread/(ARFcom) follow the traditional Recce specs sans the 16" barrel requirement or no? Just want to get it right before I share pics of my understanding of a Mini-Recce. Thanks! |

12.5 Noveske barrel Surefire SOCOM556-RC Vortex PST 1-4x MRAD Had it on my 16" (in the Recce thread) and swapped it to my SBR... keeping it on my SBR. Heavier, but 1x is really impressive, especially when I turn the illumination on. |

No rail needed...
Remove metal tab and the two locking clips from vfg. Drill a hole in the dead center. Go to hardware store and get a small flat head bolt that is small enough in diameter to fit inside holes in rail. Get a flat plate type nut and a washer. Bolt goes through vfg and rail section and lock wahser between head of bolt and inside on vfg. Flat nut on inside of rail and use a little blue loctite, just tighten the two together and its tight as a tick. Sorry for the lack of better terms and no exact sizes. |
