I was just looking at mk12 brakes and collars. On a side note adco is out of collars again. If someone has 2 long you don't need let me know. The real reason I was looking is I was about to buy the ones I need. I compared adco price to PRI price. For the brake, thread protector and collar at adco it's 140.00. PRI is 190.00. Is there a difference for an extra 50.00?

I emailed A.R.M.S. about the spr mod 1 bc I was curiious as to why they made it. Essentially they said the peq-2-3 sleeve was the emost prevalent and wide spread, then there was the mod 1 bc since primary placement of the peq 2 was side mounting and using the mount on the sleeve to top mount was less than ideal placement wise, they removed the peq section and continued the 1913 all the way down to make more room for accessories to be mounted in front of the optic. Then they said a made a handful of prototype units. But only a few prototypes were made and they didnt say what for. I thought it was kinda cool they emailed me back. Really wasn't expecting it. |

I started checking ATF wait times on various sites and asked a few dealers because I wanted to find out when I may start getting some of my goodies. I think we are in for a much much much longer wait than we expected. No dealers I checked with or talked to have recieved any form 4 approvals since December 15-January 16 time frame. Putting wait times at 7-8 months right now and still counting. Every single stamp I submitted in the past never took more than 5 months max.
Form 3 transfers are at 77-90 days right now. Form 4's at 7-8 months and still counting. Just something I thought I'd post. |

Yea I don't understand the slow down so early. Seems like they quit processing before 41F was even announced as final. Going off the 4 month theory forms submitted one year ago have not come back. I don't understand why they don't just collect the 200 when you purchase the item and do your NICS check and be done. All they want is the cash and if you can own a gun you can own class 3 legally so why all the extra bullshit. |

And to be somewhat on topic, 500rds of IMI should show up tomorrow. As soon as I can I'm skipping work and getting a range day in. I'll report back on what it's like going from that Mil/Mil, FFP Bushnell to the Leupold Vari-X that has the 168gr turrets. Oh, I think I'd like to do a breakdown too of how the 168gr M3 knobs match the IMI/CBC type ammo as well on the BDC side. |
|
|
How do you guys get your Mk262 turrets? Just call up Leupold and tell them you want MK262 turrets for a Mk4 MR/T? Or do you have to give them all the data and they make'em for you?

Yeah, 100% agree. It's one of those photos I just found myself staring at. What is the consensus on painting just an upper/stock and leaving the lower black when cloning? I've seen a few pictures with that paint style on mk12s. I saw a few SPR's and other various M16 variants painted this way in Iraq. |

It will come with Mod 1 turrets, a tethered battery cap, and laser etched scope-level and eye relief markings on the tube. As far as the 112633 goes - happy with the authenticity and the rail space on a Mod 0; less happy with the reticle for paper-punching purposes. If you have a PEQ-2 to mount on a Mod 0 (PEQ-version rail), this or the NF 2.5-10x24 are going to be the only two real choices for you. Originally Posted By Samson-Dogg:

The 2.4 mm pupil at 10x on the NF severely impacts the light getting into your eye - it will visibly darken as you crank the magnification up. I would not recommend either scope unless you are locked into a clone optic build AND have the PEQ-2 on the Mod 0 top rail - there are significantly better options (even clone correct) if you don't need the rail space. Military ever use capped windage? Anything else that separates the original military version from the later limited release versions? A lesser known version (on this forum, at least) the military bought was the Mk 14 Mod 1 version with the FC-2 reticle. I believe it had ZeroStop knobs, though I never paid the $400-500 price tag to have NF do the retro-fit. Less relevant to the Mk 12, but very interesting reticle indeed... most pictures online are not accurate representations of the military version of the reticle, either. |

Has anyone used a Magpul wrench on a PRI barrel nut? I saw a few pages back it being talked about but didn't see an answer for the magpul.

Anderson has the cheapest tube/spring/buffer. The EE for the A1. A guy was selling 3 A1 stocks for 89.00 a set of 3 a while back. Very good condition. I scored 6. Passed one to Chenault for helping me out with my swan sleeve. There was one H&R in the group I got so you can find a good one. There is some crap too but good ones show up.

Corresponds to Colt SP64571 which is definitely A2 length... I get that it's not the 'as-issued' length, but if any of them ever broke, I doubt another A1 stock was scrounged up to replace it. |

It seems to me like it should be A2 on Mod1's and A1's on Mod0's. And take that adjustable crap elsewhere. Just kidding. CAR stock only. hehehehehe. Also just kidding. |

With the MOD 0 it's because the scope has to sit so far forward. I have to so something similar. Thanks again Samson for the stock, I have big plans for it. As soon as I get some time that is. Damn kids are demanding. |
