I so love those ACE stocks. Is there any disadvantage besides the price? Charging handle clearance, odd cheek weld, etc..
How do they effect the balance on a Mod H? It's funny, I always figured a stock like that was kind of fugo but it just looks so good on a Holland. |

The carbine doesn't work for me. My cheek is right on the metal and it blows for any kind of magifted shooting, at least with my posture. But the rifle is freakin tits. The buffer+Lantac ebcg make this thing shoot so damn soft. And fully collapsed it's a hair shorter than I used to run the acs I had on here.
The carbine has been removed, and if it doesn't pan out with my 14.5 socom mre with my m68, it's gonna get the boot. |

Is it the barrels or collars that are not machined properly on all the rifles that are having issues with the can screwing down?

You have 1 guy making collars, and 20 companies making barrels. Who's going to be the one to get it right? Ron's biggest issue are barrel manufacturers. My SIG M4 barrel wasn't M4 spec as it was supposed to be for the M4 AEM5 collar. So Ron made me one for that specific barrel. My WOA barrel was a little short OAL (17.75") and equally short for the collar step (2.2"). Even still, I was able to get 3 turns on my can, which is ok. My Kreiger from CLE is a tad short OAL (17.8") but the OPS INC profile is spot on (2.4"). |

I'm going to pick up a Larue Stealth Barrel, and I'll need to send it off to have the .700x.700 step on it for that M4 AEM5 collar. Was going to send it to ADCO and just do the step since it was cheaper than the SPR Profile and I am not going for a clone, but would I be better off to send the barrel to AE? |

He did mine at no charge because I bought an M4 AEM5 collar...and it didn't fit. He said he didn't want me to have to buy another. You don't need to have your barrel profiled. He should be able to make a collar that fits over the threads and stops at the shoulder of the threads and the rest of the barrel...whatever it's called (where your crush washer sits). |

I know the A1 is "correct" but the sopmod is also correct ish I believe. The A1 just doesn't give the right eye relief especially when prone. Thoughts? View Quote From what I can tell, I've never measured it. I should go do that for you. Hang on. I was going to say from what I can tell is you'd gain a little. Maybe more like A2 length. But let me double check. Oh yes you will. I have an A1 and it's a shade over 9-3/4" from where the plastic starts on the top. And you'll get just under 11" with a SOPMOD and a milspec tube. My sopmod is a B5 though. So I'm not sure if there's much difference between an older sopmod. If they are the same you will actually get more with the regular sopmod because the B5 butt plate has an angle to it, where the LMT"s or real ones' look straight to me. So looks like you'll have more than A2 also, with the sopmod. Great build. Love the lever gun too. And a can on the Glock. You got it all goin on. |

I'm currently working on a Mod H, but the last part left to order is the scope mount. I can't decide to go with the Larue LT104 or Recce rail and ARMS rings. Scope is a Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10. I like the look of the Recce rail but don't know if it's worth the added weight and price. Thoughts?
Pics will follow when complete, along with the Mod 1 I'm building. |

Will a recce rail combined with high rings make a scope sit too high? Anyone actually measure the exact height increase with the recce?
I keep looking at that stupid KAC 1 piece scope mount even though I shouldn't...I just really like the look of it on a rifle. It's labeled as 1.4" which is just a hair shorter than ARMS high rings. Just concerned it might be too high with a rail. I do like the combo though...except I want to buy the KAC in taupe/tan. http://i.imgur.com/K50BsAe.jpg |

It's labeled as 1.4" which is just a hair shorter than ARMS high rings. Just concerned it might be too high with a rail. I do like the combo though...except I want to buy the KAC in taupe/tan. http://i.imgur.com/K50BsAe.jpg ya know.....i did this with calipers before......the lt104 is a 1.5" from top of upper to center of optic. iirc the recce and arms height is right about there. my A-106 nf rings are also right about 1.56ish? height. 22h would be fairly high as well as be visually "off". That looks way too high to me; your turrets are gonna bottom out and you'll hafta keep resetting them to zero just to get it sighted, most-likely. If you don't wanna use ARMS rings, go have a look at the Badger Ordnance rings; they look just like NF rings and come in a variety of heights, and have GWOT bonafides. If it were me, I'd still be in the 1" area, give or take, using a top-rail. |

So I totally got hit with cloning disease from this thread. Although I will say that looking for and finding parts is becoming fun. So I was able to find a colt take-off Alcoa Forge m4 upper and an early A.R.M.S. #17 without a lever stop for my bipod. The #17 is coming with an Aimpoint ring mounted to it so I am planning on picking up a new #32 and removing the bipod adapter from the newer #17 it comes mounted to and placing it on the older #17 I picked up. So as of now my build parts are,
AF Colt M4 upper A.R.M.S. #40 STD w/ A2 aperture (early model without lanyard and with wingless swan logo) A.R.M.S. #38 SPR Mod 1 swan sleeve ( place holder until I can find a #38 peq-2-3 ) A.R.M.S. #32 w/ early nls #17 qd mount Harris S-BRM with KMW Pod-Loc PRI front sight/gas block Ops Inc 12th model brake/collar Planning on picking up a barrel from HCS(when available) and ordering the handguard from PRI in the next couple weeks. As for everything else.....the hunt continues! |

It didn't feel too high, but the turrets on my Mk4 bottomed out long before I was able to get it sighted. Huge pain-in-the-ass since I didn't have a hex key to remove the damn turret that day. And I was shooting a match too. |

Had to play with the seating depth if I remember right to find the right node. If you can get em cheap do it. |

Unless I can find overruns SMK's have kind of priced me out. I'm getting similar performance out of Nosler 77gr for 7 cents less a bullet which works out well for me. |

WOA 1/7. runs great. |
