If search back in the thread on page 1348 I posted a sample spray of several Aervoe colors to show what they really look like... I wound up using Sand and Earth Brown mostly, with some OD thrown in to break it up some...  But I sprayed 7 or 8 colors...

In the past I have used Adco , they do nice work too.

Compass lake did mine. I've been super impressed with everything they have done for me. My SDM-R barrel is just a work of art. As far as the ace stock goes,at first I couldn't stand the way they looked. I thought they looked like the stupidest thing ever hung off a rifle. The picture I posted earlier was the gun that did it for me. Convinced me to build a holland and made the ace stock grow on me. I do not know the history on these things but the gen 1 was not military only type thing right? It was just the first version they sold correct? So in theory any ace stock made and sold during a certain time period was a gen 1 right? So all those should be out in the world. .... Right????

Do you have to send your gas block to them as well as your collar to make sure they do the flats on the right position in order to let end of the collar touch fsb?

I sent my gas block with the barrel. They will assemble your upper for $50.00 too

Extra selector marking blemish verified, this one was SN # 11 of the Brownells lowers, so that kinda explains it. I bet their machine shop was used to other lowers.

Also, not happy with the Black Rain LPK that I picked up to get it assembled for today. Selector sticks out, don't like the takedown pins either.

Going to order some 16A1 surplus bits from Apex instead unless my wife castrates me. Also, paint imminent to blend it back in.

I sprayed an old SPR years ago with Rustoleum Camoflage colors as follows: complete all tan base coat, then semi-patterned lines of alternating brown and green.  No stencils, no fancy shading, nothing.  And with some wear, it eventually looked baaaaadddassssss.

I've had bad luck with Aevoe spray paint. They clog up too easily.

It wasn't without frustration.  I'm having mag issues across multiple lowers and uppers and mags.  Can't seat on a closed bolt even half loaded, and not holding open.  Even my old dd rifle is doing it, and that went 7 years without a single issue.  The only variable is I changed the buffer tube.

Safety sticks out on mine too. It's a White Oak LPK on a non blem lower. Trigger and hammer pins aren't flush either. I suspect it's the lower.

Odd they are sending out 12x's at this point, the one I just ordered was 5xx and my one from a few months ago is 3xx.  Both are not blems, so maybe that has something to do with it.   I suspect the early units have the extra markings so they sat on them trying to figure out what to do with them maybe?

Depending upon use, you're going to spend around $1500 for it. They're no longer in production, so finding a new one with a good reticle will be somewhat challenging. Used ones pop-up all of the time on snipershide.

Haha, don't think I'll go for x50. The Mk 4 is plenty for the round/velocity of the Holland. I've been able to get hits at 800 which is pushing its limits. I was mainly thinking of the x24 for size/weight savings.

And haha I wish it were that clean. The evening light is making it look that way but it's pretty filthy. It's hard to keep clean when the top and doors are off. It definitely sees more trails than pavement around here.

Yep, 1700 is the way to go, See TC's pic.  I'm a recent no-foam convert and works so much better.  I'm thinking about dropping down to a 1600 even for the MK18's.  :)

Yes the one in the EE for 1700 is the one I was looking at. Just wondered if 1700 was over the top as far as price goes. He said its brand new. It comes with box, paperwork etc. I've got a 5.5-22x50 NF I was thinking about selling to buy the one he has. I really love the 5.5-22 but I've always wanted the 3.5-15. Wish I could just have both but I don't see any point. I've got a 2.5-10 I'm going to use on my holland most likely. 2.5-8 leupold on the mod 1 and late mod 0. Trying to find a 3-9 for the early mod 0 but will probably go with 3.5-10 because I can find those. That NF army spec just looks like a bad ass.

When I picked it up, I expected chaos, but all that slid was pliers and screwdriver.  No way I'm cutting foam for all my range shit.

I just saw two F1s on the EE, one for $1700 and one for $1750 I think.

FWIW, the mil-spec marked scopes are held to an entirely different QA/QC level:  http://nightforceoptics.com/pdf/MilSpecFlyerPDF.pdf

Honestly, my NXS was brand new for $1500 so I reckon $1700 for an F1 is fair.

Photo grabbed from the book Masters of Chaos. CWO3 Randall Wurst, Nasiriya, Iraq. About that early SPR/Mod0 life.

Seriously considering ditching my Mod.1 and going the Holland route. Who makes a decent barrel with the step for the collar? Or will I have to get one contoured? Also, what is the model of the appropriate optic riser similar to HaveBlue's above? Is it the Recce Rail? Thanks in advance.

Ballistic Advantage and Bison Armory; I had a Bison on my rig. Good shooter.

I love the "Fuckit, throw it all in one case and fuck the foam padding," style. Definitely the next thing on my list.

I'm just sick and tired of zippers, pouches, pockets, etc.  Plus I suck at cutting foam.

Glad you got it. That's the last time I mention where I'm looking at something... Just kidding. 1700.00 was too much for what I need. If I needed something to put on one of my .308 guns that would have been good.
